Maxton Brown Park — Attraction in Carlsbad

Sometimes, things that appear good from far, are far from good. This "park" is located in a decent enough looking residential area on a street corner. But with each step closer you get to it, the worse things get.

First, from a distance, it appears to have a nice view of the lagoon. But as you get closer, you will also notice the sickening smell from the lagoon, and the hundreds upon hundreds of flies that begin to land on you, and all over everything.

Second, from a distance, you might notice the park appears to have grass. But as you get closer, you will notice that most of the grass is dead and sparse.

Overall, if you are looking for a nice spot to have a picnic, stay away...

So this is one of my droning spots. Great park. Great neighborhood. Excellent weather year round. It's a small park. Probably not a super good place to bring your kids seeing how it's like right next to the street. But, a great place to take a break. They have picnic tables and grass and trees.
