Rancho Viejo Mexican Food — Restaurant in Oceanside

The food is great, but the service is horrible. I've been there a number of times with no real issues, but last week (11/16/23 at 8pm) ordered beef nachos with just cheese and beef. I got there and told them I had a phone order for Paul. The guy gave me a bag and a soda cup. I let him know I did not order a soda and to remove that from the bill he said he could not. I just paid him to get the food and get out. When I got home I opened up the box to see carne asada fries with everything. When I called them back the guy (younger guy at the front) said he told me what the order was and that I agreed to the change...really! He then said I could order the beef nachos again if I wanted but would have to pay for them again! This is the craziest thing I've ever heard from a restaurant. I called and left 3 messages with the store asking for a refund and got no reply so I just contested the charge. On a side note I went over to Victoria's just across the 78 and they had better beef nachos anyway...recommend going there for better food and WAY better service (495 College Blvd # C,...

came here for the first time, we are frequently doing errands in this plaza and always see it pretty busy inside. we decided to give it a try and it was 10/10. It seems when I set out to find a place I’m disappointed, but when I stumble inside a place unexpectedly I’m pleasantly surprised. we’ve lived in Oceanside for 8 months and have been disappointed by our local Mexican fare options, I’m so glad to say this is our new neighborhood spot!! 99 cent fish tacos can’t be beat! The burritos were huge. The place is clean. The last place I went to in oside for tacos based on google yelp reviews the food was ok and the actually restaurant was run down, I’m sorry but that stuff matters! Indoor and outdoor seating. When sitting outside they will call your name on a loud speaker when your order is ready. The staff was friendly polite no nonsense will def be coming back...

So we have been here 3 times as we live nearby. First I will start with what not to order... chicken tacos are not good, the super nachos always have cold chips and old meat...not sure why, we have even asked to have them cooked "longer" but they are cold, and we even live reL close. Rolled tacos are way too expensive and nothing g special. Also think the Chile Reyeno burrito could be good if they took off the stems and added some enchilada sause.
