Rockin' Baja Lobster - Oceanside — Restaurant in Oceanside

The food was absolutely terrible. I had the Lobster corn chowder and Cesar salad. It was a small plate of lettuce with a clump of cheese and no dressing. My daughter had the carne Asada fries and we wondered how you could mess something like that up but they managed. It had zero flavor. It was fries with big huge chunks of tasteless meat that was over cooked. The lobster roll was so terrible, the lobster was little pieces of fishy something. My son had tacos and he thought it was “ok”. Every thing had a brown tint to it and nothing looked good. The chips and salsa bar at the beginning of the meal were basic. The salsa was watery and the chips were from a bag. The chowder was sent back and after traveling for 6 hours I used lemon as a dressing and was able to force the “Cesar salad” down. The waiter was nice and was the only good thing about the place. The tables were sticky and the menus were dirty and sticky. Very disappointed especially when the $109 check was given. I would never recommend. If I could give a zero star I could. We really should have returned the whole meal. And looking at the photos, I would have loved to have food that looked like that. Especially the lobster roll. Lobster is supposed to be fluffy. The roll we had didn’t even fluff out of the bread. Not even a little bit. Have been to a couple of the Baja Lobster locations, but have never been to this one. Got in without a wait, which was nice. Brought us chips right away, and told us to help ourselves to the salsa bar inside. (we were seated on the patio). About 10 minutes later another party was seated next to us. Took a while to get our drinks and give dinner order. Ordered a Fundido appetizer. Party next to us got their food and we were still waiting. (different server). Server apologized and said he had to take care of something else. Finally got our main course, was delivered by someone other than our server. Lobster was not bad but definitely was undercooked. Server never checked on us or our drinks, so we never had an opportunity to tell them about the cook on the lobster. Everything else was cooked fine...Fundido was delicious! Finally the srrver came out with our bill on the handheld device and told the amount...never got to see the bill. Server stood over me, staring as I was completing sale and tip. I felt intimidated. Was not about to give the 22% tip he had checked on the screen. Pretty disappointed with overall experience, had such great experience in Newport and Old Town San Diego, I expected the same here. Other than the lack of service and the cook on the lobster, I would have been satisfied. Probably will go to a diffetent...

We come here everytime we come to oceanside. Always a pleasant experience and good food. We'll today was a different story. Started off ordering two of their 28.00 Margarona Margarona margaritas. The waitress brings them out and there is no salt on the rim and the is a bug in mine. So I kindly ask if she can take it back and bring a new and also put salt on the rim. She agrees but there is an undertone in her voice. Well less than 2 minutes later she is back with my drink and it has salt on the rim and no bug, but it was pretty fast. Im assuming that the bug was just taken out and they salted a new glass and they pour it into the new glass. That's an assumption. No proof. But I think im right. Anyway to cut this short the my wife chicken Ceasars salad was limps and the chicken was dry and no cheese on it. I got the taste of Baja bucket which I get everytime. Chicken and grilled shrimp was dry and over cooked. Corn on the cob was ice cold. I explained to waitress and all she could say was because they were really busy! No excuse! I was tired from driving all day, but it put a sour yet dry taste in my mouth. The waitress was very short with us and overall not worth our hard earned dollars. Not sure if we will give the another chance! Update: we came back two days later and they totally redeemed themselves. Food was hot and fresh and delicious!...
