We really enjoyed this place. We arrived at lunch time just as a large group was seated along with several other small groups. The host/waiter was very friendly and apologized that there would be a wait for our food with such a large group ahead of us. Our food actually came out rather quickly, was hot, very fresh and tasty. My husband very much enjoyed the carnitas plate special. The meat was flavorful, just the right amount if crisp but still juicy, not dry. The beans are excellent. He said it's better Carnitas than he's had in any other place in Ogden. I had a chile poblano burrito lunch special. Oh my gosh, It was was so good! The spices were flavorful, not overpowering. Was authentic, old family recipes style cooking. We had enough leftovers for another meal. The salsa was very thin, I like thicker salsa, but it was fresh made and good flavor. We still enjoyed it. The place was very clean and decorated nicely. We definitely have found a new "regular" place to go. I recommend...
Read moreI'm not rating this a one star because of the food itself. The food was actually quite pleasant and the ceviche was bomb diggity! But if I would say anything about this establishment, I would highly recommend doing takeout rather than dining in. We were informed shortly after finishing our meal that the bathroom there has a history of addicts shooting up needles in their stalls and they do not allow non-customers to use it. (Which is completely understandable) But with the current state of their women's bathroom, I wish we had known that sooner before ordering! My wife had gone in there to wash her hands before eating and the sink was filthy & atrocious enough that it imposed a potential health risk & given the unsettling context of their restroom history, we will not be returning! The waitress was also oblivious to her surroundings & customers besides us and it made things somewhat difficult when we were...
Read moreWe asked for a table, my brother is 7 feet tall a booth isn’t big enough. So they gave us a bigger booth at the corner. His legs were still hitting the other side of the booth. Other men came in after us, asked for a table and got one. It was Sunday and only four other groups of people were there, the place wasn’t full.
The chorizo in the molcajete was so spicy the whole thing was inedible. It was shared between two other friends who are Latina so it’s not just my opinion. My nieces shrimp had so much pepper she had to use a napkin to wipe it down so she could eat it. My brothers burrito was amazing until he bit into a cooked penny inside it. When we finally got our forks a long black hair was wrapped around it. Maybe it wasn’t a good day, I’m sure the food and service isn’t like that all the time. But we’re...
