My sleeve experience at Retribution Tatu in Ogden was not a good one. I was promised custom design work with constant communication. Max, my artist, has talent yet he didn't uphold to his own personal sales pitch. "To get you booked all I do is take 100$ down (which goes towards the total cost at the end) then I'll need your phone number. After I get you booked I'll go through and design you something custom and be in contact back and forth with you just to make sure everything meets your standards and you're happy with the design! If you have any questions about my booking or design procedures, you're more than welcome to ask!" This was what I expected, what I got was limited to no communication, on the day of appointment was provided with stencils ready to tattoo not for design review. Custom Design work was not provided, even after multiple attempts. When confronted, my general images were then printed "as is" and used for stencilling not for reference or design creation. Was told he would be layering, add more sections as we go to fix, yet delayed appointments or have coworkers and excuses to cut appointments short. All while giving false hope of "I'll make this work." My 8 hour scheduled appointments were less than 2.5 hours of actual tattooing. A sleeve that was paid 50% cost up front was left unfinished, distorted and not close to what was pitched in his initial plan. His dismissal and refusal to credit back what money he collected for work unfinished is unfortunate, yet highly unprofessional. I suggest if you choose this location, truly do your research on the artist and don't pay up front even if it's a partial amount. Wait for completion or you may be taken...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt know where to start- I reached out to Mac because I saw someone recommend him via Facebook. Upon looking at the businessās Facebook page, I was able to see so many amazing pieces made by Mac which gave me hope that his style and skills would suit the vision I had for my first tattoo. This was a big decision in the making as I have been putting off tattoos for many, many years for many reasons, but I am so glad I reached out to Mac. My first ever tattoo experience was AMAZING. The staff was so friendly when I walked in and were super supportive when they realized it was my first tattoo. Mac did an amazing job of prepping me for the process as he showed me his design which was more than I could have imagined. He was considerate of my raging nerves and walked me through everything, showing me his needle, and the brand new tools that he was going to use on me. The process was quick and fairly painless surprisingly but I think it was because Mac and the other artists were so engaging and kept me focused on great conversations we were all having. Overall I felt so at home and at peace. The result had me tearing up and I couldnāt believe how beautiful it turned out. Mac has a soft touch and swift, effective skills which made the whole session so enjoyable. I will be back- most definitely- and if you were considering coming- I am telling you that you should. So many talented artists here but I definitely will back up Mac and his...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWalked in and had to wait a while before anyone said anything to us. Nobody at the front counter and two employees giving tattoos in the area near the front. Went to the restroom and I walked past the employee only back room and it had 3 or 4 people in it hanging out. Had our kids with us so I took them to the bathroom after I went and then one of the employees asked if anyone had helped us to which I replied no and they asked what we were wanting to get done so I said my wife wanted her nose pierced and they said they would send their piercer up when they were finished with their break. I guess my wife was only allowed to have one person back with her so we had to wait by the front desk unfortunately. That was totally understandable just kind of disappointing we didn't get to be with her. My wife told me the piercer got everything ready before she went back which we didn't think anything of it until a little after we had left. We were both a little concerned about not seeing it get prepared just because you never know... I highly doubt they would reuse needles or anything but when it's not prepared right in front of you there is always a little concern/doubt at least for us. Overall it was a quick thing that was done well and they said they offer lifetime re-piercing if it ever closes for any reason so hopefully they honor that if the need...
