August 2025 update. Quality has fallen off a cliff. Service was very friendly. When she told me the price, I was shocked. I remember $12 meals that were delicious. Now, I get $17+ for burnt chicken/sauce.
This time? Dinner meal with tax was over $18. 3/4 of the (probably frozen) sour chicken was completely unbreaded, though the sauce itself was good. The General Tso chicken was dry and tough as a plank of wood. It smelled great on the ride home, but it ultimately tasted like nothing. I wish I would've gone to Walmart and got the Innovasian frozen garbage over this 😕 I'm throwing away 70% of dinner box I ordered tonight. Not bothering to refrigerate garbage food.
My favorite Chinese restaurant down in South Salt Lake underwent a series of management changes that resulted in mediocre food, while maintaining a high price. Being from the Ogden area, it's also quite a drive!
I tried pretty much every Chinese restaurant in Ogden, and just couldn't find anything of quality. Many cheap restaurants with large servings of sub-par food, or very expensive restaurants with very small portions.
Then I found the Golden Jade. On a whim after an evening class at Weber State, I popped into the restaurant to get some cheap Chinese food, and was immediately won over. The food was delicious, the servings were huge (easily two meals, even for the gluttonous among us), and the price was amazing. Two meals for $11, and really good food.
Sure there are some much more expensive Chinese restaurants in Ogden that offer better tasting food - but you'll pay more than double for a single meal that often still leaves me hungry. 9/10 food, 9/10 quantity, 10/10 price....
Read moreThe food was absolutely delicious, but the service was far from welcoming. We walked in as a family of three, and right away, the server seemed irritated by our presence. She appeared tired and annoyed, which set a negative tone for our visit.
When she brought the menu, I asked if they had any juices or apple juice for our little one. Her response was a curt “no,” without offering any alternatives. Later, when she brought our drinks, there was still no effort to suggest something for our child. I noticed they had lemonade, so I got up to serve it myself. No problem.
The server saw me doing this and offered to handle it. I politely declined, explaining I had already prepared the cup. To my surprise, she took the cup from my hand, dumped it out, and replaced it with one that had a lid. I was shocked by this unnecessary and abrupt action.
Overall, I’ve never felt so poorly treated as a dine-in customer. That said, the food was excellent, and we may return for it, but there will be no tip for...
Read moreWow just wow I have never been to a place like this the food is beyond exceptional it's made fresh to order so it light take a good moment to eat but it's so worth it! The portions are worth the price. I had the Pho with chicken it was so tasty so full of flavor next time I will be getting with it shrimp. Their boba is so good too. I got the mango boba and it's made fresh with real fruit. It's officially the best boba I've yet to try. The owner was just amazing to us! She's so kind and isn't afraid to interact with her customers she was so generous with us and the kids just loved her! Our server was always making sure we had everything we needed. Her service was great as well and she had a good attitude which made it even more pleasant to eat there. It almost felt like being at home being in such a cozy place. If you are looking for a good Thai place THIS is the place to be! Hands down 10/10 Will most definitely be...
