I truly don't understand any rating for Tozzi's except 5 stars. I would give them 10 if I could. The first date I had with my husband was at Tozzi's in Magnolia over 20 years ago and food and service was great there but this place is hands down better. Tozzi's on 12th is one of the best places for steaks and pasta in the area and prices are very reasonable. We never spend more there than we do at the only-average chain restaurants we go to and I often ask myself why we don't go there more often than we do!
Food is always cooked perfectly - but I know if it wasn't perfect then the staff would fix it for me just for asking. They want their customers to be happy with their food and service. The place is decorated very quaint, it is clean, and is a nice, quiet place, to enjoy a relaxing dinner without screaming to talk to your party because you are seated a comfortable distance from other tables. We have been fortunate enough to see the kitchen and I will tell you that it was super clean during a very busy evening dinner rush.
For those complaining about service...I think every restaurant has had its trials during covid and getting and keeping help so give them a break. We personally thought the service at all of our visits was outstanding!
My son liked it enough he is going to take his date there for homecoming! Perfect environment for that and he won't have to wait for a table because they take reservations!

Read moreWe were treating ourselves and I remember what wonderful food was served by the Tozzi’s restaurant in Magnolia so expected the same quality at the 12th street location. It was a Saturday night around 6 pm and were immediately concerned when we pulled in the parking lot by the total of five vehicles present. Saturday night the week before Christmas? Weird. We were the youngest customers and we’re in our 50s. Decor is very outdated. Our server was outstanding! Very attentive and pleasant. Disappointed by the limited menu and every entree came with a baked potato or home fries and a side salad. No other options were available! The Asiago cheese dip appetizer was amazing and the house Riesling was excellent, but my husband’s porterhouse steak was under seasoned and bland. My broiled scrod was “fishy” which is very unusual for scrod. I love fish and this was also bland. The side salads was mixed greens with one grape tomato in each. The creamy bleu cheese dressing was very good. Total cost without tip was $90, but I had two glasses of house wine at $8 per glass. Neither of us would recommend this restaurant to diners especially with so many...
Read moreI drive past here often and have always wanted to give it a try. It was just okay... I probably wouldn't go back.
Food was okay. I got the grilled chicken parm for $20. The side salad that came with it was pathetic, I was disappointed that the Italian dressing was not a house Italian but probably Great Value Italian. The chicken parm was good. Chicken was delicious and the portion was a good size.
Service was weird. I expected a high quality experience but the server had a messy bun and way oversized messy button up shirt. She was nice enough but seemed like she wanted to get us in and out and on too the next. The hostess however was dressed very nice, was super friendly and definitely fully met my expectations!
Atmosphere was very dated. Lighting was dark and dreary. Gave me a headache. Smelled like mildew or mold as soon as we walked in. The carpet was disgusting.
Overall, it was okay. Check it off the list of places I have wanted to try but it's apparent they are not putting money into the upkeep of the business. This is sad to me because I know this is a family owned business and I hate to give it a not so great review but it needs...
