Bún Box — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

Made the drive up from Norman last weekend, determined to give Bun Box a try! The restaurant is tucked in a unique spot on Classen, with a walk-up window and outdoor seating. I wanted to try a little bit of everything, so my partner and I ordered a few steamed buns, a shrimp spring roll, chicken egg rolls and a lemongrass pork bún (vermicelli bowl).

The steam buns were plump and tender, and the meat was packed with flavor - just could've used a little more slaw/sauce, as the bun altogether read a little dry. The spring roll was fresh and tasty, but those egg rolls? Crispy, juicy, well-seasoned, with a touch of sweetness from the vegetables - I could've downed all five (and they're less than $1 a piece!) The bún was wonderfully constructed with lots of fresh components (love the pops of fresh mint) and their house fish sauce was perfect complement. Only drawback was a few pieces of pork were fatty/tough, and the whole dish leaned sweet. I would've liked a little more acidity and/or heat to balance out the flavors. These are just minor quibbles though. All in all, the food is inspired and fresh, and I highly recommend...

WOW!! 🤩 we stopped in to grab lunch and were blown away. We got the pork lemongrass noodles (we added garlic) and they were EXCELLENT! The sauces were so good. We also got the five egg rolls for $4.75 (mixed bag of pork, chicken, veggie) and they were so good. This dish was a perfect balance of fresh veggies, delicious pork, flavorful but simple sauces, and perfectly cooked noodles. I could eat this every day. Very filling and we felt an excellent value at $11/box.

The staff were all so helpful and kind. The owner is on-site delivering excellent service, she was so nice.

Our toddler needed the restroom while we were there, it was very clean. The whole place was spotless, the outdoor/shaded eating area was nice and would be a great place to eat out in warm weather. 5/5, will absolutely be...

Quoted 6 mins for egg rolls, never got the egg rolls after 45 minutes. Told at least three times that we would have our food brought out, egg rolls never came out, even though we order that item first. There was one car when we walked up, at least 5 cars went through in the time we were there, and our food didn’t come out for 45 mins. 30 minutes in, we were told the first thing we order, which was the egg rolls, that they were out of pork and if we wanted chicken instead, or wait another 15 mins for pork. Why wasn’t that the first thing to explain when we got there. They prioritized the drive through, and didn’t effectively communicate time. Owner then replies they have a drive through, won’t be...
