Average and Disappointing Tried this for the first time on Saturday. It was yet again a cold & rainy Oklahoma day and who doesn't want a nice bit of Chinese to warm you up? The buildings & decor I have to say were pretty, I quite enjoyed the Chandelier and the look of the tables but that my friends is where the “Grand House” of this restaurant’s namesake stops because the food was not “Grand” in any stretch of the imagination. The service was quick and very friendly. No complaints but we should have known from the 3 cars in the parking lot on a Saturday that we were not in for a great meal. We ordered Seafood Dim Sum, Sesame Chicken, & Lemon Chicken. Both entrees came with mediocre at best Fried Rice. Honestly, I could have made better-seasoned rice, and I can barely work my rice cooker. The Dim Sum was fine, not terrible but nothing special. I wasn’t a fan of the sticky outside and the filling inside was fine. The Sesame Chicken was again just fine. If you received it at Panda you would probably be happy with it. However we were not at a franchise, we were in the Asian District and my standards were as such. The Lemon Chicken can barely even be called such a name. It was a chicken cutlet unseasoned, cut and placed onto a plate with two whole slices of lemon with a bowl of duck sauce on the side. Continuing with the theme of night’s dinner it was mediocre at best. $40 of nothing special, do with this review what you will, but the best things about this restaurant were the funny signs in the parking lot and the chandelier. Also, their fish did look like it was enjoying a nice spa day before it became someone’s dinner. Recommended Dishes: Nothing, go to Tai Pai in Warr Acres or China Garden in Guthrie Service: 4 out of 5 Food: 2 Decor: 3.5 Humor: Fish Spa & Humorous sign .. priceless

TLDR; Underwhelming Dim Sum, Better Options Nearby, Save Your Money I came here based on all the positive reviews, but unfortunately, the dim sum didn’t live up to the hype. If you’re looking for authentic and flavorful dim sum in OKC, I’d recommend going across the street to Golden Phoenix instead. Here’s what we ordered and experienced: •Spare Ribs: Tasted like plain boiled ribs with a heavy dose of MSG. Lacked flavor and depth. •Chicken Feet: Overpowered by five spice and MSG. Not well-balanced. •Veggie: The stems were oversized and tough, making them hard to chew. (Had inedible fibers still attached on the outside) •Har Gow (Shrimp Dumpling): The first batch had a strong, off-putting smell and taste — possibly expired shrimp. It was replaced with a freshly steamed order, which tasted slightly better but still not right. • Shu Mai: Very pork-forward with no distinctive flavor. Just tasted flat. • Gyoza: Arrived cold and overly chewy. The texture was off and hard to tell if it had been steamed or fried. • Jiu Cai Jiao (Chive Dumpling): Extremely chewy — so much that it was difficult to bite through comfortably. • Soup Dumpling: Had no soup in it and the meat inside just tasted like overcooked meat Overall, the flavors and textures were lacking across the board. For better dim sum in the area, I suggest giving Golden Phoenix a try instead.

Oh my gosh dude, the food was sooo good. I got the lobster bomb sushi a couple days ago and it was perfect. It was sweet and tangy with a bit of spiciness, and I am an absolute fool for spicy food. It was also served on a neat little boat with the sushi very beautifully stacked on top of it. The presentation was almost as good as the food tasted. Fresh lobster, and a lot of the time when I eat seafood, I get stomach sick the next day, but not here! That tells me the food is served fresh all the time. The waiter was great, but he seemed kinda new because he had someone watching over us as he took our order. He still did way better than I did during my first days as a server. I didn't get his name or I would mention him in this review for being awesome. I came up to the city to go to Gorō and get some authentic ramen with some friends of mine, but Gorō ended up being PACKED, so we came here and we did NOT regret it. Also, it's worth mentioning that the place looked super fancy, but their prices are really affordable and the options all looked super delicious. Best egg drop soup I've had ever hands down.

Review went long sorry. 2 stars for nostalgia It’s expensive, wait staff is troubled, don’t seem to have any ability to fix messups from the kitchen. One lied to my face that our egg fried rice was supposed to come with 2 undercooked sunny fried eggs on top that broke and poured translucent egg goop into the dish. Another occasion my guest ordered orange chicken and it was just chewy fried segments of skin. Now that’s cool for Szechuan, I’m down baby. But this girl was expecting hunan orange chicken at the very least Hawaiian style but fingers crossed for extra crispy bitter orange San Fran style. She did not want her platter of orange molasses tasting skin jerky. So after several arguments with ranking staff we left without eating or paying, fortunately the server playing pretend bartender couldn’t make a lychee martini so we never got those, on the 3rd attempt she told us she would not be making anymore and that was that. They chased us out of the dining room into the parking lot shouting thief! I threatened to call the cops and they could settle the dispute. They dispersed but my attempts to impress a date resulted in the 2007 version of being ghosted.

The food is inconsistent and when it is, it’s still weird. Like they showed the cook a picture of the food but never shared the recipe. And he’s long forgotten the details of the photo. They just make it their way. And I’ve eaten all kinds of intimidating at first foods in chinatowns like San Francisco, Vancouver, NY, and London. But the difference is it’s foreign and new and delicious. Not home brewed “are you sure you followed the directions?” because this tastes funny, food.

My relationship ended when it took 2 hours to get an unsatisfactory selection of dim sum w a group. The cripsy pork and duck I ordered: duck was burnt black and the hog had waayy too much hair and bristles left on the skin. How is that okay for your premium products? Are you reserving this trash for people who might not know better?

I go to golden phoenix now and use the window inside the grocery for all day errday dim sum. The buns and canton bbq are hot n ready, dumplings take a few minutes. Be warned the soup dumplings here are a novelty and come frozen in little foil trays that you can buy INSIDE the grocery. Get those at local noodle shops. Note the prices are the same as dine-in. But it’s fast, you can point at the duck you want through glass, then shop whatever while you wait. I usually get barbecue and a few dumplings and make fried rice o set to cook before I leave. It’s also the go to for the weekend 10:30am lazy Susan throwdown with friends now that fungs has given up on dim sum. I miss some fungs dishes but they do a good job here, use carts with tons of food on them, the young servers are top notch and ask/take notes on what you want so they can bring it straight to you when the kitchen serves it up. The old servers sneak eat soft shell crab off plates coming out of the kitchen and need to be flagged down violently like grand house. They seem to do fresh buns then steamed then fried in a rotation every 15mins. PLUS they serve the full menu so someone not keen on dumplings can 1 of over 100 dishes from mild to wild to omg what IS THAT?!. OR throw some stir fried noodles into the dim sum mix

I still eat at grand house when it’s insisted on or someone else is paying or it’s a special request. But I go safe and get a cheap noodle dish(soup is not safe)then eat my real dinner when I get home. Pretty sad grand house. You were very cool 20+ years ago and this + sushi Neko we’re the only hot new sexy Asian restaurants in town to impress guests and visitors who thought we only ate beans, beef, pecan pie, and rode horses. Well for the nostalgic, I’m happy to announce that NOTHING has changed (except the food and service and bar and parties, receptions, etc) not even the decades old carpet! No maintenance whatsoever in fact! They did lazily put up some annoying flashing light strands from the interwebs. Soo, yeah. I’ll shut up and stop...

I hate giving bad reviews to restaurants like this -- I tried to like this place, but just couldn't and seeing it has so many good reviews, I won't do too any real damage. First off, the regular menu has a couple of decent dishes (nothing great, but some of it is okay). I could not recommend it to anyone though, there isn't enough heat on the spicy dishes, and everything was kind of oily salty and/or saucy. Looking around the place, it seems they have finely tuned the cuisine into the Okie crowd because most people just get a heap of 'fried rice' for their meals; it seems to be what really drives business to the place. With so many people accepting such low-quality dishes as meals, no wonder they don't pay much attention to anything else. As for the Dim sum, it was some of the worse I have have had anywhere. Everything with meat tastes like it has the same sort of squishy tasteless shrimp-pork mash. The sauces served with some dishes are weird and do not help anything. I tried a 8 different Dim Sum dishes and didn't like any of them, and I am someone that generally raves about dim sum. The service here is also very bad. It was not great the first couple of times we where there (couldn't answer questions about the menu, took 20 minutes for the cashier once to figure out how to change the paper in a machine, zero warmth from any employee), but the last time really took the cake. We got on a 25 minute waiting list on a weekend DimSum day (just after they opened, not sure if people rushed the place or what). We decided to walk around the block a bit because we didn't want to stand in a crowded lobby. We came back 15 minutes later and checked where we were. They crossed out our name already and the one after that, and when I asked that we be marked as being back, they said we 'missed' our table and had to be put back at the END of the list and told us it was going to be a 20 minute wait. Never have I been to any place that makes you re-wait your place in line like that. Because I am a big dim sum fan, and really wanted to try it, we obliged and waited in the front patio area (where the chairs are chained to the table, so you can't even get them pulled out decently), and it took 35 minutes to actually get seated. Then, inside, the Dim Sum service was not great. Took 10 minutes for someone to even talk to us about getting anything to drink, it took another 10 minutes after that to get any utensils or plates (our first dishes were cold by then), nobody even was around to ask about taking an order from the menu, and the dim -sum is served a single dish at a time throughout the whole place. So, you have to sit there and wait like 5-10 minutes for the next 'offering' to come out, and then you have to hope it makes it's way to your table and you get someone's attention before some other group just grabs them all, which happens a lot. I saw them bring out spring rolls twice within the hour before any made it to my table, steamed dumplings were missed too the first time they came out. There was a soup cart but they completely ignored our signals to come to our table (after 40 minutes of watching them slowly drift around the tables around us, the server just left the cart and never came back). Begging and waiving down dishes and not having anyone take responsibility for the table is not how dim sum is done elsewhere in the world. It was all very trashy feeling. Three visits, four dishes and as much dim sum as I could stomach, and with full confidence, I rank this place as one of the worse...

I’m going to make this as short as I can . I have never been so disappointed in Asian food/ restaurant before. I felt rushed by the waitress while looking at the menu(s). The menus had no to very little descriptions on it and when I asked a simple question as what’s the difference of the noodles on the “soup” menu was, she didn’t know and was not happy that I asked. I’ve mentioned quite a few times that we had never been there before and she kept coming back way too fast, after I repeated, “may we have a couple minutes?” Or “We are still looking.”, I felt EXTREMELY rushed. Especially since this place was DEAD. Being in the food/ service industry for 15 years I am extremely upset. The soup I’m assuming is supposed to be like a pho, I asked the waitress if it was like pho because my daughter was craving it (most of the pho restaurants we go to are closed on Mondays so we had to try something new) The waitress just starred at me after the pho question. To be honest I should have just gotten up and left, but I felt obligated because my daughter ordered a soda. So I asked for our order to be Togo since she brought us drinks (me a water and my daughter a soda) and asked the noodle question. As we were waiting for the Togo order, there were two dead fish that were in the “live fish” display tank that would be served to guests. Should have left then too. The table was extremely sticky and the silverware was very dirty. When my Togo order arrived of the meatball soup thing…. It was the most measly portion I have ever seen in my life. Especially for being $12. There were not any veggies except for a few strands of bean sprouts and some spring onions. There were three tiny meatballs cut in half and LESS THAN half a rice Togo container of rice noodles. And MAYBE a cup and a half of “broth”. It tasted like canned chicken broth you get at the store for 50 cents. Also for the Togo kids cup my daughter ordered was $3. So in total I spent almost $20 for what should have been $10…. If that… oh and the soda was flat and tasted like the soda lines haven’t been cleaned in years. Btw most Pho or Togo soups are about 5 times the amount. I took pictures but I cannot add them on here for some reason. My daughter who is a garbage disposal, wouldn't touch it after two bites. So this was a huge waste on money, time and gas. Very disappointing since it was in the...
