EDIT: I declined a refund when I picked up my bread, but completely appreciated the offer. The fact that someone responded to my comment and offered to make it right, says a lot about Big Sky. Aside from my own homemade challah, the challah from Big Sky is the best I've had. The young man that assisted me when I picked up my order was so friendly and even offered me a cookie. If I don't get my mixer out of storage soon, I'll be back to Big Sky. I have changed my rating to 5 stars.
Original post: I ordered my bread, 3 loaves of Challah for the sabbath and Chanukah, on Tuesday. I was told I could pick them up at 11am Friday. I arrived at 11:05 am and was told my bread had not even been baked yet, they were just rolling it out, it would have to cool, and it "should" be ready at 1pm. Normally, I make my own challah, but we are in the process of moving and my stand mixer is in storage. I'm so disappointed as this is my first time ordering from Big Sky, and I had to drive across town to pick it up. Now I have to drive back across town again, which pretty much throws my schedule off for the rest of the day. In hindsight, I should have called to make sure it was ready, but they have my phone number and no one at Big Sky could pick up the phone to let me know it was delayed? Zero stars for...
Read moreTheir breads are nothing short of extraordinary—each loaf crafted with care, tradition, and flavors that transport you straight to a European bakery. This is a place that every bread lover absolutely must experience at least once. I initially visited for their Honey wheat bread, but I quickly discovered that their selection goes far beyond just one standout loaf. From hearty, rustic sourdoughs to delicate, flavor-packed specialty breads, their offerings are a dream come true for anyone who love the fresh baked bread. One important tip: certain breads are only available on specific days, and the most popular ones can sell out quickly. To avoid missing out, it’s a good idea to call ahead or check their schedule. Arriving early is often key to securing your favorites—because once you’ve had a taste, you won’t want to leave empty-handed! Also, don’t forget to grab some...
Read moreThis is one of the true gems I found living in OKC over the past 4 years...BIG SKY BREAD. As an east coast transplant, I was homesick without my neighborhood go-to Italian bakeries. I was looking for a local bakery that made a variety of homemade breads fresh daily. Big Sky does not disappoint. I love coming in for my favorite breads, honey whole wheat, German rye, and walnut raisin. The breads toast so well and are delicious! I also love the specialty breads which change on a rotating basis and the cookies. The staff are super friendly and down to earth. They are the real deal as far as giving you good customer service and giving you a happy feeling every time you come in! They are the best at what they do and it is a joy going there! There is something about the combination of local fresh bread and good service that makes me giddy, looking forward to...
