The staff at the Ellison go above & beyond, their compassion, kindness and understanding completely saved a horrendous situation. I had a VRBO booked & when I had arrived the house was trashed, the host had said the location was double booked & I had lugged groceries all the way from Dallas to host a dinner party which was due to arrive in one hour. The Ellison was the only solution for a place for us to stay… when I checked in with Jasmyn I was literally shaking from stress & frustration, nearly on the verge of tears about the situation and she handled my drama like an absolute PRO. She was kind and listened and helped me check into my room with ten minutes to spare before my friends arrived. When I was bringing our bags up to the room the manager Aaron stepped in to say he could offer a mini fridge to help salvage some of my groceries & I could not be more thankful for his empathy. His quick thinking to solve a problem that was not something he “needed” to do but felt compelled to help a guest stuck in a tricky situation & his thoughtfulness is such a rare trait to find these days… I cannot thank both Jasmyn & Aaron enough for all they did. As for the hotel itself! The only room they had available as a standard king, it was on the smaller side but they packed it full of all the amenities to make it comfortable. I loved the modern feel of the hotel, plenty of sitting areas for me and my friends to visit. The entire property was clean, well lit, modern, and most important felt extremely safe. The fourth floor had a beautiful patio area & pool. The fitness center had bottles of water & disposable headphones. The bar was beautiful & had plenty of space to accommodate our friends on their patio. The drinks were ridiculously delicious & the bar staff was as kind and gracious as could be. This hotel has put many little details that I personally find thoughtful in regards to a guest experience. There is a water fountain you can fill up your emotional support water bottle right in the hallway, most hotels charge you an arm & leg to stay hydrated & keep your kidneys happy. The bathroom has the large refillable shampoo, body wash & conditioner with ZENTS body care line - I used to be a lead esthetician for a four diamond hotel, this was the exact line we used and ugh was it an absolute treat to shower with high end body care at the end of an extremely stressful day. Especially being semi crunchy granola… I’m thankful for a hotel that is plastic conscious & refillable bottles save so much from waste being thrown out into the environment. The robes in the room were absolutely plush and soft, they even had disposable house slippers if you needed them!!! We heard no other guest doors open & close throughout the night nor any guest chatter in the hallway & the hotel was basically filled to capacity. I am beyond thankful for the staff here for everything they did to help me and the accommodations here definitely carry through with their thoughtfulness & details during the duration...
Read moreI am so disappointed with this stay; I am not sure where to start. I think an appropriate place could be the “urban” view room I received, which faced a parking garage and lot which is not the facade pictured on the website. Secondly, customer service was severely lacking upon check-in as no one was at the front desk for several minutes while we patiently waited to be checked in. There were no pleasantries exchanged at this point as it was a simply transactional engagement. After check-in, no one called or texted to see if there was anything we might need as you would expect from an establishment of this caliber. Unfortunately, this theme continued for the duration of our stay as there were bright yellow stains on the shower curtain as if someone had urinated on it, black claw marks in the bathtub reminiscent of a tragic hotel stay I had in India in my adventurous years where I was convinced a badger had been a previous guest, peeling wallpaper, strange splotches on the walls that screamed to be wiped. And this was just our room. What felt most egregious is that we were not notified prior to booking our stay that the hotel pool would not be available for use. My 6-year-old son was devastated when we visited to find 1 inch of water in what was supposed to be a fun and relaxing time. Sadly there was one more offense to be had before our departure. The individual at the front desk refused to grant us a 30-minute extension to check out due to the entire hotel being sold out. I suspected this was a false claim, and sure enough when I went to the app to book a reservation for the evening, there were a plethora of rooms available. I don’t think anyone appreciates being lied to, but when this happens in what is supposed to be a hospitality industry, it feels even more insulting. I would not have paid half of the nightly rate for all of these inconveniences my family had to endure just for the location. This was easily our worst hotel stay in the last several years, and I hope management takes this feedback into consideration in ensuring quality control is maintained as I believe there is still potential given the hotel’s age and location in...
