HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! And I do mean horrible customer service. This is just my experience… We walked in and just stood there, and stood there, and stood there some more without a single greeting—not even a simple "hola." As we looked around, we noticed there were no tables available, and the empty ones were dirty. Finally, a young man started to clear the tables and waved us over. The feeling of unwelcomeness immediately hit, but I didn’t want to say anything to my friend, as this was a place she picked, and I didn’t want to come off as unreasonable or dramatic. So I kept my feelings to myself.
I went to the restroom, and when I returned, I was greeted with two menus and two glasses of water. I asked my friend if the experience had started to get better. With barely a grin, I could tell she was also trying to keep her true feelings buried inside; however, she said, “I want to say yes so BAD, but unfortunately, no, I don’t feel welcome.” We then both agreed that we would try to ignore the extreme lack of customer service because the food looked so delicious.
Shortly after, the same young man asked if we were ready to order or if we needed a minute. After both agreeing that we needed a minute, the young man walked away, never to return to our table. I saw an older gentleman in the back point at us, so I just knew he would return shortly after, but nope! We agreed that if he didn’t return in the next five minutes, we would make our exit. Well, five minutes came at least twice, and we finally decided to leave, but it was clear they didn’t want our business. The food “looked” good, though. Sad to say, over all there was absolutely NOTHING EXCEPTIONAL ABOUT...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a quaint place to have breakfast or lunch, this is a great choice. They have a nice menu with some unique breakfast choices (don’t worry they have traditional selections as well - pancakes, waffles, omelets). I had the eggs benedict with home fries and it didn’t disappoint. The breakfast bowls look like they’re decent (even large portions). It appears to be a family-owned business and I appreciate that it appears like the whole family is involved. Prices per dish range on from $7 to $12.
I didn’t give it 5 stars because service is a little slow (However, I think they’re just working out the kinks). They’re very attentive on being CLEAN! Don’t expect this place to be a greasy spoon!! On peak times (Sunday brunch/after church) expect to wait for a seat/table. It’s not a large location, but it seats just over 65 total chairs (mainly tables of four, with a few larger tables, bar seating, and a table for two).
As of right now the hours are 7 am to 2 pm (Monday to Friday) and 7 am to 3 pm on Saturday/Sunday). They have catering options that you’ll likely have to give them a day (or more) in advance to prepare for.
They serve Pepsi products (as a Coke fan, I went with Diet Dr. Pepper, LOL)
They accept debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, and scan-to-pay options.
I recommend trying this place out. Maybe make it your regular breakfast location. Menu photos...
Read moreTruth in lending, this visit to Eggceptional Cafe, is my first OKC breakfast experience since returning from a thirteen-month deployment as an Army civilian to western Iraq 🇮🇶..
That said, I stumbled upon this eatery as a result of needing to kill a little time before other places I needed to go open for the day..
I was delightfully surprised with my experience here!! I ordered a two-egg breakfast with eggs cooked over medium, a ham steak, diced country potatoes, and homemade bread, toasted..
Everything was fabulous.. The eggs were perfectly prepared, the ham steak grilled nicely and flavorful, the country potatoes seasoned well, and the toast, though dense, was a nice encounter over commercially available, sliced breads!!
Eggceptional Cafe delivered a decent value for what I paid for the meal, and the service was great!! I'd definitely return if in the area again and in need of breakfast!!
They offer lunch offerings and catering, too.. I definitely recommend trying...
