Great atmosphere, clean, and great portions. I ordered the B2 lunch meal that came with hot and sour soup, that was a much heartier soup than most places I've had it at. It also came with two delicious large fried shrimp, a very tasty egg roll (no joke, had more flavor than many others I've had), and sesame chicken. The sesame chicken was ok. It had way too much sauce though, and for a "spicy" dish it just seemed too far on the sweet side. Their biggest downfall though was the service. I was at this restaurant a total of 45 minutes. I had maybe five other groups there during the time I was there and it seemed most of them were being helped by one waiter, and not the one I had. their waiter seemed to bounce from table to table and have everyone very well managed. My waiter never showed up the until at the end when I had been sitting for about 15 minutes with my empty plate and empty glass pushed to the edge of the table, and all he did was slide the check onto the table and run off. I had my money in hand, ready to pay, but he went straight over to the menus and stood there for a couple minutes. I just assumed he wanted me to walk over to the cash register and pay, though I had seen the people leaving before me just leave their money on the table until it was collected and brought back. Even had to stand at the register for about a minute or so while he fiddled with papers before he decided he wanted to let me pay for my meal. I was definitely not impressed by any of that. Quite a shame, because the food was quite delicious. Won't go out of my way to go back...
Read moreI have been reviewing restaurants across the US since 2011 via Four Squares, Food Spotter, and now, The Fork and The Road. I make it a point to not review negative. If I have an issue, I simply inform management to give them the opportunity to make corrections. I beleive every restaurant deserves that. I have only had to write One bad review in Delaware 2014 for a NASTY UNCLEAN dining area. This is the first time since, and they deserve to know.
I ordered lunch to go for office co-workers. I was just up the street so I walked. Upon picking up my order I received one brown bag, and one plastic bag very heavy stuff. So I asked for a plastic bag to put them both in for easy carry. I noticed this didn't seem secure, so I asked for another plastic bag. The guy looked at me like I just robbed the place. I asked is there a problem? He turned his back, retrieved the bag and sort of tossed it to the counter without looking while mumbling, "you already have one".
Now on to the food. Both the Kung Pao and the Orange Chicken had ZERO flavor!! My entire order of pork fried rice was dark brown/burnt. The meat was extremely dry as if they were using it until it was all gone. I literally threw every bit of it in the trash. Wasted $27.00 worth of food. But I refuse to give up because there is NO WAY any restaurant is serving food this bad on purpose. Therefore I plan to return for lunch this week July 20-24 with a friend so that if this is the norm, they will hear from...
Read moreFirst time at this place at the request of my spouse for Father's Day. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Maybe my mistake was ordering take-out, or not inspecting my bags as I would at a fast food restaurant! Either way, we ordered 8 items, including 1 order of Roast Chicken and 1 order of Kung Pao Chicken with fried rice. Got my 2 bags of food, but when I unpacked, there was no fried rice with the Kung Pao chicken, and a dish of assorted meats in lieu of the Roast Chicken. So I called the restaurant. The lady who answered asked for my phone number, and when she reviewed order, she advised me that there were 8 items ordered, and 8 items put in the bag, including the Roast Chicken and that my Kung Pao Chicken was entered without any rice! I said ok I can see how that might have been missed, but, I was looking at a dish that had an assortment of meats including shrimps in a sauce, not roasted! she insisted that she put no shrimp order in my bags. I repeated that I am looking at a dish that has shrimps, she again reiterated that she put no shrimps in, then hang up on me. I have posted a picture of the dish that we received... Thank you Fung's Kitchen for a memorable experience. The next time that we have $125 to spend on food, I will make sure to not bother you...
