Update : Contacted manager, he quickly responded to my concern.. he replied explaining the situation and let me know the issue was corrected.. then he so kindly sent me a gift card for my troubles.. extremely kind and fast response...
until yesterday I was a regular at least 4 days a week for lunch.. I just think you may want to know why I will no longer be coming in for my lunch hour.. First I will say that Tues and Wed I never seem to have an issue and the young ladies behind the bar on those days are so helpful and extremely personable and consistent in their charges. I will without a doubt not be in ever again on Thursday or Friday or over the weekend simply because who is usually behind the bar.. I order the same 2 drinks every time I come in. Espresso Martini x2... The last 3 times I came in on a Monday, Thurs & Friday the girl behind the bar charged me different prices every time I came in.. 1st it was a total of 12.00 then next visit $18.00 and now yesterday 6/6/24 for 2 drinks it was $22.00 charged me $10 for one then $12 the 2nd... as she handed me my bill she said she had to change what she was charging me because she wasn't charging me correctly... I told her that on Tue and Wed my tab is always the same $16 for 2 drinks... she as always acted like she didn't hear me.. This isn't the 1st time she has caused issues. I brought a friend in there for lunch, ordered a pizza, we sat there 45 min watching everyone around get there food.. She told us they were running behind and it would be out in a min and we told her our lunch hour was coming to an end we would need it to go... She came back then and advised she mistakenly had our order on HOLD whatever that means.. Long story short we were late back to work and when we got there we had the wrong pizza and neither myself nor my coworker could eat due to the spice and error she made ordering it... I let that go and just coughed it up as a loss but yesterday was my last straw with a bill of $22 for 2 drinks... the same 2 drinks but charged 2 different amounts... I enjoy the location and the food but unfortunately I need a consistent amount charged considering I visit your restaurant usually 4 times a week..
Just thought you may want to know what is going on behind the bar and possibly others are experiencing it when they...
Read moreIt's been about a week since I've eaten at Guyutes so I can't remember specifics any longer (whoops), but I do want to leave a review so everyone knows to go! I went to brunch with my friends and we all had a fantastic time.
We started off with the traffic light, which is salsa, guac, and cheese dip. The chips were nice and crisp. I remember not being wowed by any of the dips, but they were good.
We also had the fried wontons which I believe have poached catfish in them. They were super ginger-heavy but unique and delicious nonetheless. Nice and crisp but not greasy. They came with a sweet sauce that reminded me of honey, and had jalapenos in them. The sauce was so good that many of the traffic light chips made their way into it.
I got home fries with the curry gravy. There were other things on it but I can't quite remember. Sausage, maybe? The curry gravy was nice and silly smooth, I just wish the curry flavor was punchier. The home fries on my plate were a bit undercooked, but others at the table were perfect so I know they're delicious.
My husband got a breakfast pizza and subbed the normal sauce with gravy, at the waiter's suggestion, and it was DELICIOUS. I tried a bite and was tempted to keep the piece to myself. Crust was thin but chewy and pillowy. Really great.
We had mimosas which were cheap and customizable with different juices. They weren't super boozy but just enough to be fun.
We also had an apple pieish cheesecake? It was very good, the cheesecake one of the best I've had, but the fruit was a little under-caramelized for my tastes. Still delicious.
Our waiter, though, was incredible. I wish I could remember names because I would totally name-drop here, but he had longish hair and a beard. Either way, he really made the experience special. He was attentive and engaging but not hovery. Easy to talk to and down-to-earth. He's what bumped the...
Read moreI'll start with the fact I am not a fine diner, though I enjoy many great places and a wide variety of flavors from Indian, to Mediterranean, Japanese ramen, to the best pho, among the Paseo grill and the OKC mansion. So I am not a stranger to great food. Here, I left a bit angry for how much I spent and the quality of food I received. I wanted to come home and immediately write up a 1 star review. But I slept on it several days and there service was good and the atmosphere was good. It was just the food that, in my opinion, fell very short.
I didn't know what to choose. I found the menus confusing, as did the rest of my table. Some availability times overlap (i.e. brunch/lunch) yet you can only order this at this time etc. I also don't like looking at the menu on my phone if the menu is complex. Goro Ramen, simple menu via QR code, perfect and easy to understand. Here, pages of menu, instructions, times to understand, just seems like a hey I'd rather frustrate you than pay a few cents to give you the only menu in service at the moment.
Food I ordered: Cheese Burger, add avocado, egg, mayo, GRILLED onions and Grilled Jalapenos, and waffle fries. Price: 30 USD!!!!! Price includes the tip 20% aprox 32 bucks.
So, my 30 dollar cheese burger came extremely well done, and more a glob of beef with an extra burnt crust than an evenly cooked patty. The jalapenos were chopped and the onions, though I was sure they looked grilled, I'm almost 99% certain they included chopped raw onion on the burger. But even if not. I did my best to eat the 2/3rds that I did.
I think I was most upset that I was upcharged the price of a sack of avocados for the slices on my burger!
So, in short, if you're coming here to drink and eat a little more fancier than me, this may be a great spot. But for someone that doesn't really drink, and didn't order fancy, definitely not my idea of...
