So I decided to make a special trip to this place because I had some family talk about how great it was. They told me not to go to the new location but to the original location which is this location... It's located in a storefront and parking is a little bit awkward and getting in and out can be a challenge.
I went there with myself , a teenager, and my little one. When we first got there, it's very interesting setup. The tables are really interesting looking and they have these fold out things so they make them a little bit bigger. It kind of makes seating a little bit more awkward but I guess it works.
When we got seated someone came up to take our order and I couldn't even really understand them. They weren't Vietnamese though, they were Hispanic and I did my best to give him the order that we wanted as challenging as it was. My daughter ordered a sweet tea... The server just shook his head. Yes okay and took the order and then we went ahead and I got the Pho Tai Nam, Pork Spring Rolls and 2 children soup and one with some meat...
After about 10 minutes past someone else showed up and was seated next to us and saw that in order of fresh spring rolls that were pork came out straight to the table... After that our soups came up and they were served up to us... It took about another 5 to 10 minutes for the fresh spring rolls to come out after the soup... which I don't know. I kind of think someone else got them...
The children's Pho noodles were absolutely terrible and brittle. The taste was disgusting and pretty much not edible... This only occurs if noodles have been setting out for a very long time... It tasted absolutely terrible because I always try my children's food... The meat that was in it tasted like Arby's roast beef...
My Pho actually tasted really good and when the spring rolls did show up they were all right too. The pork that they put in the spring roll is a little charred which gives it some crunch and crispiness... People like that some people don't just be aware...
One of the other children's noodle soup was fine... Which I don't understand how one can get screwed up and the other not?
The lemon tea tasted like lime and when I tried it it was very overwhelming. You get your receipt when you go up to the register so it's not really clear if you should have that before you go or not but double check your receipt... The $3 tea was a specialty that I think the server didn't understand when my daughter just asked for a sweet tea. The person adding up my order wanted to argue with me about what sweet tea in America is... I Don't quite get it...
The service absolutely terrible. The food overall I think average or below average. The environment - The table was super awkward. Bathrooms were average.
The plus side they took away the tea that my kid couldn't even drink.. I honestly didn't care about the soup at this point and was...
Read morePho Hoa is not only the best pho in OKC, but probably one of the best restaurants in the City, period. The inside is spacious and usually packed, and depending on how busy it is, you could get your food within 5 minutes (I have actually received my order in about 2 minutes on a slower day). The pho is phenomenal!! It is so fresh and the flavor of the broth is so clean and delicate, the meat is tender and flavorful, and the toppings are generous. The small is about $5 and can easily fill you up, unless you're a big eater, then you'll want the large (about $6). If you are a big eater and are extemely hungry or just want a challenge, order the extra-large (about $7) and they will bring you a bowl two times the size of your head. The staff is quick and friendly (although if they're really busy you might have to wait a few extra minutes), and the owner is a wonderfuly friendly man who works the register and answers the phone. One thing to remember: they only take cash, so come prepared!
If you are in Oklahoma City, living or visiting, and you like asian/Vietnamese/pho, you MUST...

Initial Observation: Came in and was not greeted right away. Came In literally right behind a couple and still nothing. Had to wave down the cashier to get a table (which I sat myself). Place was noisey, as well. Almost hard to carry a conversation under all the other conversations going on in there .
Food: Pho Ga, in my experience, normally consists of white meat chicken. I would not have ordered this if dark meat was an ingredient (threw out half my meat). Also ordered an appetizer (egg rolls). I can't stand it when the entree arrives within 5 minutes but not the appetizer. I ended up cancelling that app as soon as I received my entree.
Service: No one came back to check on my meal or for drinks. Certainly this place is NOT deserving of the apparent praise that it has garnered. It seems the lack of Vietnamese dining options in this area made this place favorable.
Conclusion: Definitely not a fan. Save yourself the pain of coming here and look elsewhere for...
