So we drove an hour into the city tonight and unfortunately had the rudest and worst experience in an ice cream shop ever. We drove an hour up here to visit. Never again!!!
Gracie and another employee were helping a gentleman who was ordering over ten scoops of ice cream. The shop wasn't busy at all. AT ALL!!
So I was sitting by the register and approached an employee who had helped me just ten mins before to order two more scoops of ice cream. I figured Gracie & the other female employee were going to be busy for the next 5-10 mins with this big order.
Gracie then proceeded to yell at me from behind the counter in the most condescending tone and told me I needed to wait in line and go behind the guy. She talked to me like I was a child.
First of all there was no line and like I said Gracie and the other gal were helping this gentleman so of course I asked the third employee at the register who was not busy.
If the store was busy I can understand Gracie's attitude but to treat a regular paying customer who just ordered ice cream and wanted to order more was plain unacceptable and beyond rude.
When I approached Gracie to let her know I was sorry and wasn't trying to be rude. She was very rude, snobby, entitled and condescending back and proceeded to roll her eyes behind my back ( my roommate saw that and was totally shocked )
I hope management talks to her because that is absolutely no way to treat customers. Your ice cream isn't cheap here but Gracie's employee skills ( or lack of ) and manners definitely...
Read moregreat place for artisan icecream. i am not very knowledgeable on the technical aspects of icecream so this is purely a layman observation and experience. I had the lavender cold brew on a dipped cake cone and it was an interesting treat as i could taste what seemed like the scent of lavender along with what was clearly coffee flavored gelato or sorbet. I am not sure if lavender actually has a flavor so to experience what the scent of lavender would taste like was quite interesting. my girlfriend had something creamier on a waffle cone and her icecream was creamy and the texture felt like high quality icecream. upon walking into the place you are greeted with the smell of rich waffle cones. quite an interesting place especially the decor. its a great distraction to calm your mind and relief from the stress of the urban environment by looking at all the various different flavors available and it seems the inventory gets updated; as i recall from a previous visit that some flavors seemed new. this was my second visit. would be interesting to see what other new flavors they have in a few weeks...
Read moreCame opening week and even at 8 PM, the line was out the door! It didn’t take long to get inside though.
There are a good amount of options here and I was immediately drawn to the s’mores ice cream, as s’mores is my favorite flavor. I was a bit disappointed in it though. The website says it’s “toasted marshmallow ice cream, graham crackers, marshmallows, and fudge swirl.” Yeah… it didn’t have much of the latter three. I expected them to be mixed in the ice cream but it almost looked like it was simply at the top of the tub as a whole, leaving you with not much unless the employee specifically scoops from the top. But what I did taste of the graham cracker it was very cinnamon heavy, which I didn’t mind. I also ordered mine in a waffle cone which they make on-site. It was sweeter than other waffle cones I’ve had but I do love that it’s made right in-store!
My husband had the Okie Crunchie Munchie and he loved it! I managed to snag a bite and loved how rich and chocolatey it was!
I would definitely return to try...
