The 18th Street shop is there at the request and in partnership with the area neighbors, so this employee owned business has direct support to be where it is and stocked, staffed and arranged as it is. I've shopped here since I was a kid and enjoy going back again and again. Homeland Pharmacy gives great service and shots for most stuff without Anya appointment. They carry stuff the other Homeland Stores either don't it don't have stocked regularly. They have a card discount program and great specials. They cater events and have a great deli. The fried chicken is wonderful and best at the too of the day, but at some stores is bagged at the end of the day for quick sale which is cool too. They practice the #Oklahoma #Standard of gracious service. Some properties hire disabled adults, who are always well trained and thorough at whatever job they are in. I frequently see people I know for various reasons, even though I haven't always lived here. This location has people dropping in for all kinds of things as for all kinds of reasons! đ€© You might see local performing artists or*** world famous rock stars * with their family or band at this exact locationđ„žđđ€đœđ€ best keep your...
Read moreWow! I donât know how to start but I will give the short version of my story. Iâm African American and female. I came to this Homeland grocery store on January 31, 2021 in the late evening. It only took about five minutes in that store for the female police officer to start following me everywhere! Around the fruit section, near the meats and then finally in the dairy area, where she pretended to be interested in one container of yogurt, is when I realized that she was following me, everywhere! My husband then came into the store. and it took him less time to realize the same thing. Now there were a couple of white people not wearing a mask, but she didnât care about them in this pandemic. She only seemed to have more interest in my husband and me. This has happened to me before, only less subtle. As a physician, I can buy anything in that store; however, I felt like a crook. When we checked out, we noticed that she left the store and went into her car, just sitting there in her car, a job well done, big-time crime defender! Good job, Deputy Dog!!! I guess the grocery store is safer now, leaving us with a humiliating...
Read moreRarely do (read never) do I reduce a rating, however today I'm compelled to do just that.
This grocery store has good produce, and anything else you would need from a local grocer, however the amount of people loitering gives pause.
Additionally, I was told I'd have to either leave my bag unattended at the entrance of the store, or leave it with customer service (where it was left unattended). While this sounds like a small thing, it should be said that I commute full-time by bike. Typically everything I have on any given day is in my bag. So now I have the added worry of "will someone take my bag?" "Will my belongings be rifled through?" Etc....
This "no backpack" thing always leaves me baffled, because no one is asking women to stow/check large purses. I can get a loaf of bread or a steak into a purse much faster than I can a backpack that I have to remove and unzip. As such I just won't go back. I'm sure it doesn't matter to them that they've lost my business, and that's cool. I'm one guy. However I really feel this policy should...
