Hunny Bunny Biscuit Co. is one of my favorite places to get breakfast and brunch at so far! It provides some nice Gluten-friendly options. There are a decent amount available which was perfect for the larger group that we went in with!
Most of the changes require substituting the regular Biscuits for a Gluten-Friendly Biscuit and not including the Sausage or Mushroom Gravy. This location does have a Dedicated Gluten-Friendly Menu as well.
My first visit was with my partner and their family on Mother’s Day. I felt that it left a great first impression even despite how much busier they might have been because of the holiday. I ordered a Maple Cinnamon Latte and the Gluten-friendly Truck Stop With Scrambled Eggs and Bacon. I did not get the Sausage or Mushroom Gravy, but instead I chose Strawberry Jam.
The employee at the counter was patient—especially for someone like me who did not know what to get just yet. I was hoping to get the Biscuit French Toast, but unfortunately that cannot be made Gluten-Friendly. However, I was still very satisfied with what I chose and ate!
The Maple Cinnamon Latte was poured beautifully. Whoever made it definitely knew what they were doing! It smelled just as good as it tasted. I debated ordering another drink, but I chose well with this one. I would highly recommend this Latte! The flavors are balanced, and you can definitely taste the cinnamon. It has the sweetness without being overpowering. Looking back at the pictures, it makes me wish I could have one every morning!
The Gluten-friendly Biscuit tasted just as good as any other biscuit. I was surprised at how reasonably sized it was. The Strawberry Jam paired nicely with it! I thought the Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, and Tater Tots were great too! The Eggs were soft, and fluffy. The bacon was cooked perfectly—not too crunchy or soft. The same goes for the Tater Tots!
The second visit was with my partner and their family again, but it was on Father’s Day. At the time we went in, which was around 12:45 to 12:50, the employee at the counter let us know they might only have a certain amount of Gluten-friendly biscuits left. Thankfully, this was enough for my partner and a few others in their family to still enjoy their meal. However, if you need to eat Gluten-friendly, I would suggest going in sooner rather than later just in case! I am glad they let us know how man Gluten-friendly Biscuits were left, but it was a bit worrying!
I do not necessarily need to eat Gluten-friendly (rather I choose to when with my partner), but I still enjoyed their regular Truck Stop. I had a very lovely biscuits and gravy there! It was so warm and filling with about the same to say for this meal.
I still could share the Tater Tots with my partner and their family, and they seem to really enjoy it too! Overall, HunnyBunny Biscuit Co. is a wonderful spot to satisfy a breakfast craving even for those who need it Gluten-friendly! The service is quick and satisfactory too. They also had clean tables and bathrooms. I would love to keep...
Read moreI swear this place is supposedly known for its food and service but this location is definitely lacking on everything. First off, it's our first time at any Hunny Bunny restaurant. The guy at the front knew that as we explained it to him but he never explained that you're getting a plate that is too small for the food you're ordering and that the gravy on the biscuits and gravy. Let move on from that for now. After ordering at the front counter they ask for a tip on the screen. Of course like a good human being i decline and wait to see what service I get before tipping (news flash: there was literally ZERO service). They tell you where the water jug is and it's all SELF SERVICE. Mind you this is AFTER they ask for a tip, so if you tipped you still have to get your own coffee creamer and sugar along with any water refills you may need. Unbelievable.
Secondly, when they bring out your food that will be the absolute last time you'll see anything resembling a server. She dropped off the food and left, never to be see again. The food was wild. It was ok a small plate and the biscuits and gravy was all over the top of your eggs and sausage or bacon depending on what you chose. Now I'm not a person that likes all my food touching and this is literally ALL my food touching. I decided I would try it all and was able to eat my eggs as the underside of the biscuits protected my eggs from having gravy on them. Then the sausage was almost completely covered and the biscuits and gravy had room temperature gravy and sausage that tasted more like hamburger than sausage. It was all weird. I left my food on the side of the table and some blonde lady in a blue shirt (assuming a manager of some sort) came and picked it up but never asked how it was or anything. Then another lady came to my table and asked how it was and as I was about to start to explain the guy at the register called her away and like everyone else, I never seen her again. Went to check out the restroom like any new restaurant I go to (always did this as a kid too lol) and it had more of a truck stop vibe than the affluent vibe the restaurant seems to be going for.
Anyway long story short. Unless you're in the mood for a restaurant that doesn't ever wait on you but asks for a tip anyways and room temperature gravy then I'd definitely stay far far away from...
Read moreWhat can I say about this place that hasn't already been said by others? Well, it was my first time here and I decided to rate it 5 stars. I don't usually do that. I like to visit a place a few times before I leave any reviews. But this place is well worth the hype.
My parents raved about it so when I was in town, I absolutely had to try it for myself. I love biscuits. Even the canned, store-bought kind. But this place really takes a breakfast item and elevates it to a whole new level. Every item on their menu is based around their delicious biscuits, even the more "traditional" food items like french toast and eggs benedict.
I had the French Hen, which consists of french toast style biscuits, fried chicken, and topped with apple butter and pecans. There was even a to-go cup of optional syrup on the side, but it didn't need it all. The chicken was perfectly crispy and well seasoned and perfectly complementary to the sweet biscuits and apple butter. Now, I've never tried apple butter before today. For those who haven't, man, you're missing out. The apple butter was an excellent replacement for syrup as you still got the sweetness without the sticky, gloopy, soggy mess of maple syrup and wasn't overly sweet. Topped with crumbled pecans, the dish is well balanced and incredibly filling.
The cinnamon roll surprised me. At first blush, it looks like a typical cinnamon roll but this was better. It's lighter, fluffier and less dense than regular rolls. The cream cheese frosting on top didn't make me feel like I'd eaten a box of powdered sugar, a nice change from many other cinnamon rolls.
The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the person at the front register (where you order and pay) never made any adjustments or requests for changes (i.e. almond milk or ham on the side) seem like it'd be a huge hassle. It was nothing unusual, but sometimes waitstaff act like any change is a BFD.
I highly recommend this restaurant. Now I just wish I could pick it up and transport closer...
