Ordered the Jacks rib and meat combo for $72. It comes with a full slab of St Louis style smoked ribs, 1lb of any meat of your choice and 2 large sides. The girl that took my order was super friendly and polite. I got brisket, green beans, macaroni, and Texas toast along with the slab of ribs. The ribs were delicious. They were seasoned perfectly with a smoky flavor I absolutely loved. The brisket however was more like sliced roast. No flavor at all and some of my slices were dry and tough. Both sides were what you'd expect from a school cafeteria. No seasoning in the macaroni or green beans. The macaroni looked delicious and was creamy but the noodles were way overcooked and the cheese sauce was watery and bland. The green beans were tender but bland. I've lived in OKC and grew up eating here in highschool. I remember it being way better. If you look at my reviews I don't give negative reviews almost ever but this meal was so disappointing. As good as the ribs were I was blown away the rest was terrible. Maybe it was a bad day. I'll try it one more time later this week and update the review. I intentionally left out pictures to not be hateful and hoping to get better...
Read moreI have been coming into Jacks Barbecue for 40 plus years. While in this time period, it has had several owners. We last went in the mid-afternoon over last weekend. I think there was only one other person in the restaurant while we were there, aside from the two employees. *My family of three ordered two sliced beef dinners and one sliced beef sandwich, with water to drink. Not including a tip, Our meal total came to $52 and change which seems very high, I do understand the increase in food prices and labor. However, what bothers me about this establishment is that they've always been very stingy with the meats and sides. Before the pricing increases, I would usually buy an extra side order but now even that's very expensive. . I think our whole party did not leave the restaurant not feeling satisfied. *As far as the food quality, the brisket was good, the baked beans were okay, However, I would have preferred pinto beans or something that didn't taste like it came out of a can. The fried okra Appeared to have been cooked in old grease it should of been changed weeks ago. Jack's barbeque, I've eaten many good dinners there over the years, but cannot afford to eat...
Read moreThe best Q I've had since moving back from Central Texas. These people do it right and treat you right and the prices are right. Get the Jack's Potatoes, they're fries, but the potatoes are sliced into discs then cut in half, not into sticks. Sort of like a thick potato chip, but not crispy. Just on the outside, but fluffy/creamy on the inside, like a fry.
Now, on to the meat. The brisket...oh man, the brisket. Tender and delicious. Try it with no sauce first, because you don't need it. There are two kinds available if you like though. Tried them both, they're both great. The Polish sausage was also wonderful. Since this was my first time here, I also added a rib. Their ribs are just magical. Every bite was just fantastic.
Thanks, Jack's! See...
