Sushi Hayashi — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

It is true that the woman at the front is horribly rude, but what's even worse is that she is literally doing illegal business. She overcharges without telling you and can't back up any of her numbers when she is confronted. It's such a scam that this place deserves to be shut down!

I ordered 4 sets of nigiri sushi, one roll and a miso soup. I never received the miso soup. Bill comes and it's $41, but I was expecting lower. I told her that I didn't get the soup, so she takes $1 off. I got fed up, paid and left. Afterwards, I noticed everyone else complaining in reviews about being overcharged, so I decided to go back. Here's what happens next...

I go back and ask for an itemized receipt. She only has the sushi menu that she wrote a total number in for without adding it up. I ask her to write it out and show me how she got to my total. She won't do it, so I do it myself. First off, she charged $12.95 for a roll that was 10.95 and blames me for it saying the menu is a misprint. Second, the miso is $2, but previously only took $1 off when I didn't get it. We double check the tax, and yet she still can't get it to add up. She overcharged by $6 without being able to show any proof as to why. Her reason... she says "I'm loose, you way too strict". Wow, that's classy business right there.

All in all, I went back for a few measly bucks that wasn't worth my time. But it's ludicrous that this lady is overcharging customers (and apperently a LOT of them according to google and yelp) and this restaurant just doesn't care at all. I complained to the sushi chef and he nodded without even saying a word. AVOID THIS PLACE...

Paid $35 for Calamari Special Roll, Plain Tuna Roll and Horrible Service...INSANE!!!

The extremely and incredibly rude woman who I presume is the owner, definitely is price gouging and just making up prices! I didn't realize until after I ordered that there were no prices on the menu. After she ran my card I asked for the receipt. She only handed me the card transaction receipt with just the price. I asked her specifically for the itemized receipt and she just played ignorant and said, "You Have Receipt!"

When I asked her how long would it be for my order, the rude woman snapped at me and yelled, "You Come Back In 15 Minutes!" So I simply asked was there only one chef? And she got snotty and even tried to mock me, "Yeesss...only one cheeefff!" I laughed at her audacity and said, "Ohh Ok, I will just wait here then!" She then said, "You don't have reservation!" The place was COMPLETELY EMPTY! So I replied mockingly and pointing to the empty chairs, "Yooouuu don't have annnyyy other customers!" I just sat down right in front of the chef who I presumed is her husband and watched him make my food. She was LIVID! She started speaking a foreign language under her breath that I recognized so I then asked the chef if they are Korean and he confirmed they are. I then shared LOUDLY that my best friend from college is Korean and I had learned QUITE a bit from her. They only spoke English until I left!

Don't put yourself through this ridiculous hostility and absolutely disrespectful environment. Spend your time and money...

I leave 1 star because the Itamae he did a Great job! First of all JUST KNOW they dont take walk ins! So if you decide last minute you want sushi in south okc… Dont go here!! Go to Volcano because you can walk in and be greeted warmly and be sat instantly. It never fails the hostess is always rude here for whatever reason. I asked for a menu to see appetizers and salads and other things because I wanted to know the price and were in a recession! Plus she NEVER EVEN OFFERED ME ONE EVEN AFTER SHE ASKED IF I HAD A RESERVATION…. She just said i have edamame and gyoza. I asked again “Can I get a menu?” She said again “ I have gyoza and edamame”.. I said i will take gyoza… I ordered sashimi and it came with 4 slices $7.95. Now… had I known my gyoza was $16.95 as a single mother I wouldve never ordered it! But she wouldnt give me a menu in THE FIRST PLACE so how could I have known?! I have never paid over $8 or $9 for gyoza!! What tha flip is in this gyoza?!?? TERRIBLE!!!! I will NEVER GO BACK!! And the woman who was yelling at me in the restaurant…. You obviously have no kids or have 2 incomes or make well over 60k a year to take up for this place! Or your the owner. Either way I WILL NEVER RETURN!!! And I grew up on this side of town 48yrs and counting! Terrible!!! Flat TERRIBLE!! $67.00 for a roll, 4 slices in a sashimi, a drink and an app??? LUDICROUS!!!
