Impressions are everything. And this place hit it out of the park in some places and totally went Chernobyl.
First off, the product. I'm a fan. I make trips between Kansas and Houston several times a year, and while I try to refrain from diving junk down my gullet I look forward to stopping in for a Big Golden (no pickles, why they slap these on all chicken sandwiches now days is beyond me). My wife is a fan of the fish. My kids like the strips (my adult son is even a Cane's fan, and he has given them his blessing). If we had one of these in my town it would put that craptastic, mismanaged, filthy KFC out. And we have no quick fish options anymore. This would fill a large void.
The decor is fun. Simply put. I have no complaints.
The service at most locations have been fine. Quick and friendly.
So now let's look at the location at Guthrie, Oklahoma.
I had no quarrels with the speed in which my order was filled, nor was there any issues with the quality. The fries were a little chewy but I didn't get into them for about 5 or 10 minutes so that's just as much on me.
But the service and the cleanliness.....damn.
I'll leave thee cleanliness at the majority of it being behind the counter. I know it's busy folks, but the kitchen is open and on display. Sweep the line. You had 3 people standing around. I assume they get paid.
Service. Putting someone at your lobby register (or any register) that's going to talk down to your customers, sound condescending, ignore your questions (like "is this my order") by acting like they suddenly become deaf and then rolling their eyes at you and then loudly complain about the customers and your job.
And not just the register. The folks standing around were being unprofessional as well. I personally would of pulled all of them off the floor. If you don't like it, go. No one put a gun to your head to work here.
Terrible service. Very unfortunate. I hope other locations I can visit will not have...
Read moreFirst impression speak 1000 words, right? The kid (guy w curley hair) who was working the register needs to go to Chick-fil-A training academy....for starters, he was sitting in a booth when I walked in, licking on an ice cream cone. He put his ice cream cone down on the table, and came to the register....never said ONE WORD, except, after I ordered Catfish, asked if I wanted tartar sauce....??? Gave me my receipt and went back to his ice cream cone until the next guest came in, I watched him do the exact same thing...rinse, repeat, son.
Anyway, when my food was ready, the girl from the back came out and screamed my # and basically threw the bag at me, and I kindly asked her for hot sauce and ketchup...I watched her put like 10 hot sauces in, and no ketchup, so when she came back to me, I asked her again for some ketchup, and she commenced to rolling her eyes and gave me 2 packets....
The employees in the kitchen seemed like they worked well together for the most part, getting things done.
The catfish was not bad....kinda skimpy, but I get that in today's world. You however need to update the pricing on the board to reflect the actual prices so that people aren't shell shocked when the actual total is given. The board said $10.99 for a 3 pc catfish dinner, but it rang up $11.99. I understand Bidenflation, but we need to advertise what is real and true. I theoretically could have argured that the price shown is what I am liable to pay and nothing more. (As with gasoline prices at the pump vs in the store).

Read moreI absolutely love stopping to eat here when I drive thru Oklahoma. After reading the less popular reviews Iâm confused because I canât seem to find a single issue here. In their defense it may be occurring on a different shift. When I am here, often I see the same team working behind the counter. For starters, the manager is on point with her direction and level of managing an extremely busy store. This store is attached to a large gas fueling station and convenience store with a full semi truck parking lot and diesel isle. Even a drive thru. So, theyâre busy but hard to notice due to the insanely fast food put out they have. By the time youâre grabbing your receipt and turning around they are calling your number out. No joke. Letâs bring it back to the manager, sheâs direct and demands a strong output to be employed behind the counter. The generation working is mostly of the youth and less disciplined in behavior. So, thatâs what she has to work with and you can tell she cares about the customer service received. I love it. The worst thing I have to say about this place is that the owner of the c-store (and probably owner of Golden Chick) needs to keep his nose out of the business and be an owner not a shadow of micro management. The owner has many friends or family working behind the counter and is able to move them incorrectly when thatâs the managers job. This is a people problem not a restaurant issue. Youâll enjoy your money well spent here if you like fresh fried...
