So I had only tried one Mickey Mantles before this and it was a terrible experience BUT I figured I would give it another shot while in the casino there was a concert going on that I was attending so all the food places were obviously busy on top of regular weekend casino crowd. The man and woman host are another level lol someone has put them on a pedestal lol. They choose whom they want in like obvious regulars. I waited in line for 3 HOURS! 3 hours! Many people left out of the line obviously but I really wanted some good food and just kept thinking surely it won’t be much longer but the longer I waited and continued to see people walk up and get in was nothing short of frustrating. And the host were very dismissive, rude, and short. I just watched how they spoke to people getting out of the line to ask how much longer and how they spoke to each other as the people walked away. Plenty of open tables thru out both restaurants so they must be short handed. Was waiting for a table but got set in the bar the blonde working behind the bar was so scattered brained, rude, clueless on what she was doing?, forgot several things, drinks made were not even ordered by me, no plates for appetizers, tables that were sat well after me received food 20 minutes before me obviously it was the bartender/server fault. Food came out and was cooked well. Had to wave her down to pay the bill and that’s embarrassing. Terrible service no matter which location you go to. New management could be in order just saying. No one seemed happy to be there working. Prices are not cheap so just a basic 20%tip off each table is over what should be compensated for service in these locations. And no knowledge on how to actually wait on tables to turn them over for more $ no one wants to pay high prices for terrible service sorry not sorry. The food I got at this location was prepared well unlike the other but to wait that amount of time for the worst service...
Read moreWe dined in at the bar at 2:50 and we’re promptly greeted and given lunch menus. When we placed our appetizer and drink orders it was 2:55pm. I got a French 75 and my boyfriend got the signature coffee cocktail. We also ordered the pickle chips and Boursin cheese. We ordered 1 cocktail and 1 beer more before closing out our $65 tab. Shortly after we closed out, an elderly couple sat next to us and were given happy hour menus. We asked for a happy hour menu as we were not aware that was even an option. My cocktail and both our appetizers were listed as half off on the HH menu. When we asked our bartender about it she replied “ oh… I wasn’t sure if you wanted to wait 5 minutes for your order or not…?” So asking us if we wanted to wait was never an option? Our bartender was simply greedy and wanted a better tip. This is incredibly unfortunate because we would’ve easily doubled our tab and ordered more food and drinks had we know about their happy hour. When we expressed our disappointment, she offered to speak to the manager and see if they could honor the HH pricing. After watching her greet several guests all with the HH menu, she approached us and said there’s nothing they could do since we ordered at 2:55pm and our tab was already closed. I work in the restaurant industry, that’s not true.
She never asked management You can always open a closed tab, cash or credit, doesn’t matter. Or offered a gift card valued at the difference. She could’ve easily asked us if we wanted to wait or simply rang our orders in later to honor HH pricing as many other establishments do.
The Food and drinks were great but, but the hospitality was a swing and a miss. Moving forward all guest be aware there is a happy...
Read more10/14/22 5:00pm Drove up from Georgetown Texas for a weekend getaway. Our friends, who were with us, frequent Windstar and recommended Mickey Mantle’s restaurant.
Wait time : our wait time is well with an acceptable standards at about 15 minutes. While they do take reservations, they always have several tables available for walk in diners. ( nice touch )
Drinks : drinks were well prepared, and the martinis were not water down by being shaken in ice too long. Excellent!
Food: we had appetizers and steak and all was delicious. Our steaks (Filets) were cooked perfectly. They melted in your mouth. Amazing! Pricing was commensurate with Quality and Value.
Wait Staff: the wait staff was what truly made this an amazing experience. They all work as as team so that you never have to ask where’s my waiter or waitress. Whoever stops by is more than willing and happy to help. Our particular waitress was Michelle. She was amazing. Michelle has an awesome personality, a beautiful smile, and a definite Texas politeness about her. While, enjoying our appetizers, my wife wanted some blue cheese for the mushrooms, Hayley, who wasn’t our waitress was glad to dropped it off and asked if there was anything else we needed. Again. Team work !!
Management : I have to give a lot of credit to management, because the attitudes and ideals of the restaurant are passed on from management to the workers thus the managers are doing a great job at getting the workers to portray the atmosphere of great service and great food at...
