El Taco-Miendo — Restaurant in Olathe

If you don't speak Spanish stay away from this place! A friend and I visited this place one night and we had a very bad experience here. As we walked in everybody just stared at us like they didn't want a couple white guys in there. As my friend was making his order the girl had this weird look on her face while she she kept talking in Spanish to someone from the kitchen area which looked very strange. My friend gets receipt and is charged $1.50 for water and all he wanted was a cup with some water in it. When he points this out to them she said he was getting a bottle of water instead of a cup. Looks to me they were up selling water to take advantage of us not knowing Spanish.

I make my order and I made sure they knew I didn't want a bottle of water. She ask me if I want everything on my tacos and I said yes. Ten minutes later we get our food and boy was I disappointed. I guess everything to them means you get a few pieces of lettuce and a sprinkle of cheese. They gave us a small thing of sauce to share between me and my friend which wasn't enough. Those tacos had more air in them then meat. Taco bell has this place beat hands down for getting your money's worth on a taco.

The whole time we were in there we felt like we were being watched by the people that worked there. I've never been to a restaurant that made me feel so uncomfortable and scared to eat the food.

We ate our food real quick and got the hell out of there and went to subway because we didn't get much food...

This place honestly has really weird hours and half the time I show up and they're closed. However, when I do get in the door, their Mole and some of their Tacos are actually really good, and so I keep them in sort of this B-tier category where I get them sometimes just because they have better Al Pastor than Bonito even though I like Bonito better overall. At times there's been confusion with the service where I'm honestly still not 100% sure whether certain combos have drinks included or not because sometimes they have been while other times we had a different staff member charge us separately for them. They have good food, I think maybe they just need to be managed a bit more consistently and I'm often worried that they might go out of business eventually. I'd overall be able to recommend them, but just be sure to double check their hours before you go. I wish I could give them 5 stars but it wouldn't be an...

If there were negative stars, this place would get them. They aren’t deserving of 1 Star. My co-workers were kind enough to treat me to lunch for my birthday. I ordered 3 cheese and onion enchiladas and got 3 ground beef. Good thing I’m not vegetarian. We ordered the combos but didn’t get our drinks. The rice and beans had NO flavor. We got a half of bag of chips for the 3 of us. The salsa was the worst I’ve ever had. It was like runny tomato soup, also with no flavor. I was grateful my co-workers were kind enough to buy me lunch but I’m sorry they wasted their money....
