I just got married 8/5/16 and used Hyvee for catering, floral and the cake. They literally could NOT have messed up more if they tried! First, we met with the catering manager Dino (nice guy) on two separate occasions so I had no worries that anything would go wrong. We were having a sandwich bar basically with meat and cheese trays, rolls, and condiment trays. Well when he delivered everything my mother in law noticed there was a meat and cheese tray missing so Dino went back to the store and brought it to us. Meanwhile we realized the condiment trays were incomplete, they brought the lettuce, tomatoes and onions but forgot the mayo, mustard etc. So my guests got to enjoy dry sandwiches. Next, my cake was terrible. First of all it looked very different than what I'd wanted even though when I had my consultation she had me send a picture I had of exactly what I wanted to her cellphone! Also, it was so dry that when my mother in law started cutting it, it was seriously just falling to pieces. Lastly the floral, it still makes my blood boil how terrible of an experience that was. I don't even know where to start. First, I once again didn't have any worries or problems until the day of the wedding because I had a lengthy consultation the floral manager Kathy Buning. At the end of it in order to make sure we were on the same page regarding color she had me physically pull out of the cooler and hand to her the exact color of rose that I wanted which was a very light blush color. They were almost ivory with very light pink toward the top of the petals. Anyway, wedding day comes and my mother in law picked up the floral (all I ordered was 5 boutonnières, 4 corsages and the flowers to make the centerpieces my self) so my mom comes out, shows me the boutonnières and corsages and they're ORANGE!!!! I would have just dealt with it but they would not match any of the other colors so my family called and they spoke with Kathy and she basically was calling me a liar and that that was the color that I ordered. My father-in-law asked if they would be able to redo them in the right color and they said that they didn't have that color even though when I had my consultation she told me that that's a rose that they always have on stock. So they had to end up supposedly having to go to another Hyvee to get the "right" color to remake them. After all that they ended up still wrong but better a really peptide-bismol type pink. After the wedding day while we were on our honeymoon our family was dealing with Hyvee and the only thing that came from it was they reimbursed us $50. It really makes me sick that we spent so much money and had so many things go wrong and we never even got an apology. The worst part of it all I would say is that Kathy the floral manager was extremely rude to us and my husband and I won't be able to enjoy the cake on our anniversary because that was put...
Read moreWorst service I've had in a long time. My wife and I have been here many times. Most of those times with good service. There might be an occasional time where it was a little slow to receive service or an order, but nothing like tonight! Worst night! We were greeted and taken to a table as soon as we walked in. That's the only good part of the evening. It was not busy. Maybe half of the tables were occupied. It took 15 min before someone recognized us and took our drink and appetizer order. It took another 20 min to get a drink. I was ready to walk out, but my wife encouraged me to stay. Time lapsed and we finally ordered our meal. When our dinner arrived, my food was cold. We were almost half way through our dinner when our waiter realized that something was forgotten, the appetizer; which came soon after. There is more that I could say about this evening, but I'm trying to keep it short. Not much of an apology was given for anything. At some point I would have thought the manager would come over to give an apology and give us a story of being short staffed or something, but it never happened. Truthfully, I don't think the manager really cared. There could have been some sort of issue tonight with staff or something, but just a simple acknowledgement would have been nice. I wasn't looking for a free dessert or anything. I even thought it was odd that our waiter did not say anything when we received our bill. Hope you enjoyed your meal? We did not! Come again. Probably not. Or anything. I hardly ever write a bad review, but I couldn't let this go without something. This changed my mood for the rest of the night and it changed my impression of this restaurant. Advertising is a difficult part of business and "word of mouth" will make it...
Read moreHy-Vee at 151st Street and Black Bob Road (Southeast Corner) is in my opinion one of the best grocery stores in all of metropolitan Kansas City (Kansas & Missouri). The Store opened only a short time ago and has the following features: Has a great bread bakery/bread oven (& you can watch them bake) Has a great deli Has a bulk items area (items like, grain, flour, candy, and more). Has a Health Foods area of the store (Soy milk, specialty grains) There is a Starbucks in the store. They are constantly giving away free samples. Customer service is awesome. Hy-Vee is employee owned. There is a restaurant & bar attached to the east wall & it's good. You really can save on gasoline for your car just buying things you would normally buy with their fuel saver card. And their gasoline station (different location) is awesome. 11. Produce department has a great selection. I want to give you an idea as to why their customer service is awesome. I bake artisan bread as a hobby at home. I bake a couple loaves a week for my family and as gifts. High gluten bread flour (and other specialty flours (rye, semolina) are expensive to buy 10 bags at 5 lbs each as they are normally sold in a grocery store isle. This Hy-Vee lets me pre-order 50 lbs sacks of specialty flour (ones they normally buy) and sells them to me at a very good price. I know no other grocery store in town that offers clients that deal.
It's a great...
