Abbu’s Kitchen — Restaurant in Old Bridge

After almost a dozen trips to Abbu's Kitchen, I can say with confidence that this is my favorite local food spot, halal or otherwise! The facility is spotless, easy to access, and close to home. Parking is plentiful, and the hours work perfectly. And the food! High-quality ingredients, consistently great taste, and a perfectly curated menu. The pot pies feel like a warm hug, every time. The wings are gourmet, made from handcrafted sauces using home-grown(!) peppers - all other wings just pale in comparison. The sandwiches are delicious and balanced, and the variety keeps one coming back for more. Even the drinks are unique and compliment the food well. They catered my son's birthday party, and guests couldn't stop raving about the food from Abbu's! But without a doubt, the absolute best thing about Abbu's Kitchen is their team - every member is genuinely pleasant, friendly, and legitimately feels like family. You can’t drive fast enough to grab a bite from Abbu’s Kitchen!

This is not like any other sub, hoagie, or sandwich shop you’ll find in Jersey. The ingredients were fresh & tasty including both the veggies & the meat which was incredibly succulent & tender. I ordered the chipotle chicken cheesesteak & it was chef’s kiss - a perfect, hand-crafted hoagie that was juicy & filled with flavor. I was also given a cup of the house mint lemonade, which was a sweet & refreshing complement to the chipotle chicken.

More importantly, though, what will you bring back to Abbu’s even more than the delicious meal is the service. Ms. Amber was kind, genuine, & treats you like you’re a food critic on TV, even though the shop had just opened & I showed up in sweats & a hoodie.

It is not easy finding quality customer service at halal spots, but this mom & pop shop is well worth returning to & telling your loved ones about.

I have been making an effort to try some more places w/ halal meat because I have noticed a difference in the flavour. When I was in NJ, that led me to Abbu's Kitchen.

I had a cheesesteak, which they offered to customize by adding a few jalapenos and chipotle sauce to make it a little spicier. It was a great sandwich. It was filling, the meat itself was good quality and tasted well, and I'd happily eat it again today.

All the interactions I had with everyone there were pleasant - genuinely nice people to talk to.

I had some of the chili on their fries too, and you can tell the chili is homemade and made well. Good taste to it.

The next time around, I want to try the mini chicken pot pies because they looked pretty good while I was there. No question I'll be back when I'm in NJ. I fully...
