Excellent! Great for lunch too.

âOur Story THE ITALIAN FOOD MOST AMERICANS GREW UP WITH WAS A CREATION OF ITALIAN IMMIGRANTS THAT SETTLED IN NEW YORK CITY BEGINNING AT THE END OF THE NINETEENTH CENTURY. WITH NO FORMAL TRAINING, AND WITHOUT MANY OF THEIR TRADITIONAL INGREDIENTS, THEY USED LOCALLY AVAILABLE PRODUCTS TO CREATE A NEW VERSION OF THEIR CUISINE. STARTING ON MULBERRY STREET IN LOWER MANHATTAN IN AN AREA THAT BECAME KNOWN AS LITTLE ITALY, THEY OPENED RESTAURANTS AND PIZZERIAS, INTRODUCING THESE NEW FLAVORS TO AMERICA. IN 1952, THE FIRST CASA MIA RESTAURANT WAS OPENED IN HOQUIAM, WASHINGTON BY PHIL BELLOFATO, AN ITALIAN-AMERICAN WHO GREW UP IN AN APARTMENT ABOVE ONE OF THE ORIGINAL ITALIAN RESTAURANTS AND PIZZERIAS IN NEW YORK. AFTER A STINT IN THE ARMY, BELLOFATO SETTLED IN THE NORTHWEST. AT THAT TIME, MOST LOCALS' EXPOSURE TO ITALIAN FOOD WAS LIMITED TO SPAGHETTI, PIZZA WAS VIRTUALLY UNKNOWN. CASA MIA, ONE OF THE FIRST ITALIAN RESTAURANTS IN WASHINGTON STATE, IS CREDITED WITH CHANGING ALL THAT. TO THIS DAY, THE CASA MIA MENU IS CENTERED ON PHIL'S RECIPES, WITH NEARLY EVERYTHING STILL MADE THE OLD FASHIONED WAY. PIZZA IS HAND TOSSED, WITH FRESH DOUGH MADE DAILY IN EACH OF OUR RESTAURANTS, THEN BAKED ON A BRICK HEARTH, OUR SPAGHETTI SAUCE IS ALSO MADE DAILY IN EACH RESTAURANT, SIMMERED FOR SIX HOURS TO DEVELOP ITS RICH AND DISTINCTIVE FLAVORS. OVER TIME, WE HAVE DEVELOPED NEW RECIPES AND MENU ITEMS THAT REFLECT OUR HERITAGE AND HAVE BROUGHT US NATIONAL RĂCOGNITION TIMOTE IN 1994, CASA MIA WON HUNT-WESSON FOODS PRIMA PIZZA RECIPE CONTEST, OUR FIRST NATIONAL PIZZA AWARD. SINCE THEN WE HAVE BEEN AWARDED FIRST PRIZE IN THE "PIZZA ACROSS AMERICA" CONTEST, AND HAVE TWICE WON PIZZA TODAY MAGAZINE'S PIZZA FESTIVA INTERNATIONAL PIZZA...
Read moreOur family of 2 adults and 2 kids dined on Saturday night at 8:45pm (they close at 10). The waitress was not rude, but the service was really awful. She brought out the wrong appetizer then blamed it on the cook. Later she came back and said she realized she put our appetizer in someoneâs to go order, and gave us the to go orderâs appetizer. She brought out the pizza I ordered and then told us that the cook accidentally made 3 pizzas instead of 2 pizzas and 1 pasta. She asked if we still wanted the pasta. Um, yes, we do- that missing pasta was for my 11 year old.
She finally brought out the appetizer (after she brought out the pizza) and itâs artichoke fondutta but it doesnât have anything to dip it in. We also realize at this point we donât have any silverware. She drops it off so abruptly that I had to wait 5 minutes for her to return to ask. She said she told the cook the appetizer is supposed to come with flatbread and supposedly itâs coming out.
My pizza (donât recall the name, but it supposedly won an award at a pizza competition) was bland and had no seasoning. I only ate 2 slices from the $20 size small. My daughterâs pizza was cut very oddly.
Finally about 15 minutes after the rest of us received our food, they bring out my youngest daughter's pasta. There was cheese hanging all over the side of the bowl, not a care about presentation.
Aside from the first 5 mins, we were the only customers the entire time. This would've been 2 stars but the waitress did comp our appetizer and my daughter's pasta without me asking. The place is very cute and could have potential but they really need to train their staff and...
Read moreThere were three of us in a group, came on a Saturday afternoon and there as only one other table there. The open kitchen concept is bad idea if guests can see a microwave activel being used (exactly what my husband saw.) I ordered mushroom risotto, it was watery, that I sent it back to get it drain, a first Iâve ever had to do with risotto. It had a balsamic glaze on it and it was terrible. Tasted bitter. I didnât even finish, I sent it back. It seemed like it was cooked in the microwave between how the rice tasted and how watery it was. Makes sense. It was never offered to be removed from the bill. For food I only ate a cup from. My husbands sandwich was bad. He barely choked his down. The âcookâ on the pizza side argued with my husband when paying about the food. Said it was our problem. Iâve never seen WATERY risotto though?! The only positive experience was the garlic bread and marinara appetizer was good. Will definitely not ever return and not recommend. Maybe the other reviews caught them on good days cause this was...
