The pricing structure is super confusing and ordering through the drive-through is awkward. I ordered a burger and fries. My wife ordered a burger and salad. The lady taking my order then asked what I wanted as a second side. Confused (because I never requested a second side), I asked what my options were and ended up ordering a salad also. She said my total was $21.98.
When she left to place the order my wife and I were both perplexed as to why she didn't ask my wife for a second side. We quickly realized a miscommunication occurred and each meal came only with one side. "No big deal," I thought. I'll just ask her to take the second salad off the order. I should have clarified how many sides come standard with a burger.
When the lady came back and I made the request to remove the salad, she said my new total was $21.98. I asked how that could be, considering she said my previous total was $21.98 with three sides. (Surely, if I removed an item from my order, the price would go down?) She said sides were extra. I told her that made sense so why didn't my total go down? She again said sides were extra. (To me, this only further begs the question why the price stayed the same after striking the second side off the order). I could tell she thought I was a moron (She acted in a professional manner but I am really good at reading body language, hearing changes in voice, etc., and could tell I annoyed her) so I just said "ok thanks for clarifying."
Side note: my wife will gladly point out my wrongdoings in public, and would have told me to be quiet if she thought I was "in the wrong." I know wives are biased, but she said she was confused also and that I was pretty clear on my order.
In summation:
I was embarrassed that the person taking my order thought I was dumb and I was confused by the whole transaction and...

Nobody is forcing you to order those french fries, but they are darned near irresistible. Club sandwich is a classic, and done absolutely right. The roast beef and cheese is amazing, and their tuna salad salad is my favorite in the city.
One thing though, they have a drive through. I avoid it unless I'm making a last minute pull-up. It doesn't save you anytime, as you have to order at the window and then just wait for your food to be made. I would rather just park and order inside. This is also why I say to call ahead, today I waited something like 15 minutes for my salad.
The food makes it worth it. Inside is a little small, but there are tables and seats and it is usually pretty bustling in there with customers having lunch. The milkshakes are also sinfully delicious, but I am not a fan of their pies. They are simply not ever what I expect so I avoid them too.
Their burgers are also fantastic. The Bleu cheese burger is my favorite.
Great local standby. Could speed it up a bit for 5 stars. Not...
Read moreI really liked it here! I just went for the first time last week and it just had a great feel to it. I don't even know why! The decor looks like random nonsense picked up at a flea market. The long narrow layout with the two-person booth seating is cozy. It just feels homey. I only got a half a cold sandwich and French fries but the fries were so good! The sandwich honestly wasn't my favorite but I'm a vegetarian and I'm pretty sure there was only one vegetarian cold sandwich option and I wanted cold! It was a little bland and for some reason the onion on it was SUPER potent, I was sweating onion smell for the next 24 hours and absolutely dying 😂 They do offer a veggie burger and you can ask for the veggie patty with the other burger options. I'll be going back and trying a burger next. I would still go back anyways just for the fries and...
