Cryptatropa Bar — Restaurant in Olympia

The only time I've had a positive experience at Cryptatropa was before COVID when they originally opened and were an actual Goth/Metal bar like they advertise. Ever since new owners changed direction the employees and atmosphere are not welcoming to outsiders. This latest experience was the worst. A friend of mine visiting from out of state who has type 1 diabetes and cancer, finally gets a night without kids and can stay out late and have fun. There was a DJ playing and the doorman said $5 to go to the back. After buying a drink my friend felt like he wanted to dance but thought you paid in the back. When we started walking in that direction the same doorman came over right away assuming we weren't going to pay. My friend gave the guy $10 cash and it was fine. There was only 30 minutes left for the show and I sat at a table watching my friend dancing by himself having a good time. I was closely watching he NEVER touched anyone else on the dance floor or even had a conversation as the music is too loud. He asked one person if they wanted to dance and they said no which he clearly replied ok and kept dancing by himself. Around midnight the DJ is ending soon, and we're looking around the bar on our way to leave and that same doorman starts yelling and pushing us out, saying he warned us (I have no idea of any warning or what he was talking about). Both my friend and I are confused because we paid for our drinks and cover charge. My friend tried to ask what's the problem but the jerk wouldn't give us a chance to speak, let alone listen and just aggressively and possibly assaultingly pushed us out yelling don't come back. I don't know what they guy's problem was, and even though we have no reason to care, my friend was upset about being treated that way. A Group of about 10 of us were out celebrating my sons 21st bday. We decided to check this bar out and immediately upon entering we were discriminated against. The Bar keeper was extremely rude. When we walked up to the bar I had gestured to him saying he was so tall and he immediately went to the extreme yelling and saying he wasn't going to serve me because I put my finger in his face. When I say extreme I mean being erratic and walking back and forth behind the bar and raising his voice for the whole bar to hear. Which was really embarrassing. I walked out and went with the rest of my group who were waiting by a table we had picked. This is where another situation started to escalate between another member of our group and the front door guy who was checking ID'S. The guy was yelling at my friend and kicking him out of the bar. I tried to deescalate the situation by calmly asking the guy what had happened and he screamed at me and kicked me out as well. They also had taken my friends nephews ID and wouldn't give it back. Horrible HORRIBLE bar!! We had a good group of us out and about last night and this bar ruined the evening for everyone!! I personally had walked to a table to save it for our group while a few other went inside to get a drink. While the ID guy checking ID’s cut off a couple of people which is fine but my nephew came back out and said they took his ID and wouldn’t give it back. WOW so I proceeded to go in with my nephew and politely just ask for it back and we would all leave. The guy working the front went ballistic screaming at the top of his lungs for us to just leave he wouldn’t hear a word we were asking… I kept looking at my nephew as I couldn’t believe this guy could treat us this way !!! Omg !! Another guy that worked there came over to ask us to leave again we weren’t trying to cause a scene we just asked for my nephews ID back …. They proceeded to keep it under no good reason and refused to give it back … Miserable bar horrible experience…They suck and all it looks like is a gothic hell whole!!
