We went to Jersey Mike's for the first time ever the other day. We told the girl it was our first time and that we had driven from Centralia just to try the sandwiches. We ordered two Rubens on wheat bread mine without sauerkraut and thousand island dressing. While we were waiting for our sandwiches to be grilled it dawned on me, when do I get to tell them what else I want on my sandwich. The same girl we placed our order with said on cold sandwiches you let them know as they make it and on hot you should let them know at the time of the order if you want additional toppings. Would have been nice if that was explained earlier but no harm. Our sandwiches were delivered to our table wrapped in foil and we started eating. All of a sudden it dawned on me that we had white bread not wheat. I mentioned the error to the guy who made the sandwiches and delivered the order to our table. He said sorry about that and went back to work behind the counter. We decided to finish eating our sandwiches and afterwards I mentioned the error to the girl who took the order and she said sorry about that and went back to work. The reason we drove over 30 miles for sandwiches was because the food looked really good in the ads on TV and they are one of the only sandwich shops that serves Pastrami all the time. The food was worth the drive but the service left a lot to be desired. There was a third person on that day and she spent most of the time we where there on the phone and we never and any iteration with her. We will probably go back but most likely will not make a special trip just for sandwiches again. If not for the pastrami we would probably never go back at all after our...
Read moreRestaurant was clean and quiet at 12:30 on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We were surprised that there was only one other customer at the counter, and none of the tables were occupied. Since this was our first time visiting a Jersey Mike's it took us a minute to decide what we wanted. Employees did not rush us. Two of the employees, one who appeared to be a shift supervisor or manager were in a very animated conversation making disparaging remarks about a customer who had apparently just left with a to go order. The first thing we noticed was that the prices seemed quite high for a sub shop. I ordered a regular Italian sub and it was $9.35 + tax (so about $10.25) this was for the sandwich only. No beverages (which we purchased separately) and no chips. The second thing we noticed was the lack of toppings. Only the most basic of toppings are available, and just 3 bread choices. We were happy to see that they carry Pepsi products. The sandwich was ok, but certainly not groan-worthy, which is what I would expect for a $10 sandwich. 3 stars are strictly because of the price, and perhaps a little bit due to the unprofessionalism behind the counter. Talking about a customer within earshot of other customers should not be accepted, and the fact that the person who was Apparently the one in charge at the time was the most vocal makes it more unsettling. If she were speaking negatively about an employee she would be fired. The lack of restraint she showed, I would imagine it's only a matter of time. She's definitely a person who builds herself up by knocking others down. Sorry about the rant. The purpose of my review was to give my impression of the food,...
Read moreThere are 3 Jersey Mike locations in my area and I prefer to go to the Sleater -Kinny location on Martin Way, Olympia. Persiphony (I hope I spelled your name correctly) and her crew kick ass. Up beat and personable. Fun to talk to while making my sandwich. I'm very picky about my toppings and the order they go on...lettuce, 4-5 shakes of red vinegar, heavy onion, tomato, salt, pepper, oregano, 4 jalapeño's and a touch of mayo on the bread. #13 is my go to! I feel like a pain the ass but they embrace it and have fun with it! It's a perfect balance of meat, vegetables and bread! Being from New Jersey myself, these guys make me feel at home! Friendly service and a tasty sub. You can't beat it! AND they have chilled Tasty Kakes, a brand that from what I understand only sell their product on the east coast. So they, Jersey Mikes, ship them in. Go there and see for yourself. My crew doesn't disappoint!!! Thanx you guys...you know I'll...
