Let me say that I have tried this place on numerous occasions. While I never considered it a great place to eat, I'm Irish, they're Irish, you know. About the only thing I remember being edible was the fish and chips. Remember, I'm saying this knowing it's a bar, so I'm eating bar food. I know that. Tonight was the last time I will try this place. Upon being seated, the first thing that you notice is the wood chairs are all filthy. You grab the back of the chair to pull it out, and it's sticky with dirt. Looking around the restaurant you can see that all the chairs are like that, and the carpet is filthy and black. Someone needs to seriously go through this place and clean it up, it's disgusting. I ordered the prime rib special..... I know, it's a bar, not expecting El Gaucho here. It was far and away the worst meal I have ordered in a restaurant....maybe ever. The only reason I say maybe is because I'm 60, and I'm sure I've had a few bad dinners, I just can't remember one this bad. I don't know how you can cook a prime rib and not season it. It had no flavor....none. The au jus tasted like watered down beef bullion, with extra water. It came with vegetables, carrots and zucchini, and again, I don't know how you can mess up vegetables, but they were under a piece of toast, and one bite of the carrots and I was off. I thought the zucchini was mushrooms, that's how brown it was. Literally inedible. My only saving grace was my wife ordered the fish and chips, and shared some with me. The waitress noticed that I didn't eat the dinner, but never asked how it was, just gave me a curious look. She did ask me about the vegetables, and I asked her to look at them and tell me if she would eat them, and she said no. She did manage to have the cost of my dinner removed from my bill, which I appreciated. I know this review sounds really bad, but it's accurate. This place has been around a long time, has a great Irish name, they could do a lot better. I hope the owner reads this, and if nothing else just cleans up the chairs,...
Read moreWe thought it would be a good place to stop for a beer and a meal after walking some trails nearby. It seemed like a good atmosphere, we love little pubs. However, our server was TERRIBLE (we have both been servers for more than 5 years so we are usually the first to give excuses for rushed service, this wasn’t that).
Our server was frustrated that we did not know our drink order upon taking our coats off to sit, yet offered no suggestions or told us what was on tap. We found the sign and ordered. He brought us one wrong drink and didn’t try to fix when we spoke up (I ordered the pineapple cider not strawberry). At the same time we ordered drinks we ordered potato skin appetizer. About 10 minutes later, we ordered our entrees. 15-20 minutes later (no problem with timing of food, busy day) our entrées come out. I asked if our app was still coming, basically because at that point it no longer was appealing or necessary. The server shrugged and said “oh yeah, I forgot. I will put it in now”. Not giving me time to even try to say we no longer wanted it or any sort of apology. He checked on every other table before finally coming back with the app. He simply said “hot plate,” rolled his eyes, and walked away. Did not ask if we needed anything or how our entrees were. Just walked away. He only came back to ask if I wanted another drink when we had been sitting without touching anything for about 10 minutes. We told him we just wanted the box and ticket. He made sure to be prompt with that and finally told us he hoped we had had a good time. I told him we actually hadn’t and he just walked away. I am so saddened by this experience. We exclusively go to small business and usually tip between 20-30%. This was the first time in my adult life I haven’t tipped at all. I wanted to love this place and visit more often and just cannot see myself...
Read more1st our waitress was rude because our orders were wrong. We asked for medium rare steak they brought out a steak without a hint of pink. We asked the waitress about it and said it was supposed to be medium RARE! She takes it back for a few minutes after saying the cooks messed up and brings back the same steak cooked longer. Not sure how she though a steak with no pink would get more rare cooking it longer. We send it back again and the picture below is what they brought back as a New meal. Not to mention they left the original steak on the table. So we picked at it as we already had to wait and send it back twice. The waitress gets upset saying why we ate it if she’s making a new one and she would need to charge us for it since we were eating but then admitted she messed up by not taking it or mentioning it to us. We ordered a pot pie and they brought a dish with the filling just in the dish with grilled chicken pieces sliced up and laid on top of the filling and a flatbread looking crust. I sent it away it was terrible. Again the waitress cops an attitude like it’s our fault the meals were messed up. I’ve never had a pot pie be cooked in a dish with grilled chicken laid on the top and a crust not attached to anything just laying over the top. It was ridiculous and uncalled for. She was a ladies with dark hair and glasses with a tattoo at the top middle of her back her name is Mara on the ticket. $114 dollars for 4 of us in a party it 22 total. Plenty business and no one should be treated this way. With a 4.2 rating I had high hopes. I’m sure they have good food and service. But not...
