Edit: The last 2 visits have been disappointing. I'll be back for one last try, but I can't in good conscience say the consistency is there. The drinks (both mine and others) from the last 2 visits were poured out due to an extreme bitterness. On top of that, the cortado and latte were the same volume...if you know espresso beverages, you know that's incorrect, and at this price point, the basics should be known.
Original: Pretty chill space. They've got shirts, pour over coffee apparatus, bean grinders, and bags of coffee beans for sale in the front. The bags of coffee also include the "roasted on" date, which is extremely important in selecting quality coffee to bring home.
The espresso drinks have consistently been above average, and I've found myself disappointed at seeing the bottom of the cup each time, just wishing for there to be one more sip.
The scones I've tried have all been pretty good once warmed up.
As far as pricing goes, it seems a little steep on initial glance. But given the area, and the quality of coffee, I'd say it's pretty well on point.
I'll continue to be a repeat customer as long as I'm...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn my opinion (as this all is) this is the worst coffee in town. Menu is so limited. Coffee isnāt good. Tried to order an iced caramel latte (thought this was a very simple ask) and was informed that as the menu showed, they literally only had chocolate or vanilla for flavoring (aside from the seasonal flavor). I didnāt ask for some obscure flavoring⦠I asked for caramel. How does a coffee shop not carry caramel??? You might look at the menu and think woah thereās nothing to choose from but surely thereās no options not listed⦠nope! No caramel ā¦At a coffee shop?? The menu is so limited and I get the the vibe that if you want anything other than a black coffee or if you want anything with flavor in it, youāre in the wrong place, it feels super pretentious in there. Go to zen where they have cuter decor, better ambiance, outdoor seating, and actual flavors on the menu. Or really...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust had a visit to Archetype Coffee and had the worst coffee experience I have had at a shop thus far. I ordered a iced chai latte and a chocolate latte. The chai latte was terrible. It was so spicy it burned the back of your throat. There was nothing latte about it. It was milk with an overload of chai spices. The chocolate latte was a fluke as well. It barely tasted like coffee and I would hardly consider it a latte. It took the baristas less than a minute to prepare my order which leads me to think this was the result of carelessness or ignorance. Had I not been in a rush to work I would have brought the coffees back and demanded a refund. This shop chooses not to carry a landline phone so there is no way to call and complain, except by submitting a form through their website. I highly suggest visiting a place with real coffee and food such as le Quartier...
