I have never been treated so poorly by doctors and a resident who is not yet a doctor in my life.
I was transferred here after having a bad fall and experiencing the worst pain in my life where my fusion is.
It started with the ER doctor, Dr. Vogel forced me to stand even though I was not able to. Then Dr. Vogel got mad when I fell to the floor and accused me of throwing myself to the floor. Then she got mad when I advocated for myself after she tried diagnosing my off of a picture. When I said you couldn't tell me how I feel, and a picture sure does not know how I feel or the pain I am in. Dr. Vogel got mad and left, bringing back several other staff members, including a resident, without asking my permission if he could be in the room. The residents name is Kumar. Kumar immediately attacked me about my pain and then attacked me about my pain contract. Making assumptions, he does know. He does not know me or the relationship I have with my doctors that I see monthly. Because I advocated for myself, he is trying to get me kicked out of my pain management contract. Mind you, I never once asked for pain medication. I only wanted help, understanding, and compassion for my pain and injury. I was under the impression that was what doctors and soon to be doctor residents were supposed to give. I did not receive any of this except for the nurse Lisa. She was amazing. The doctors and wanna be doctors could take a page from her book. This is shameful what our health care system has become. They want to be paid millions but don't want to do the work that earns them this pay. We ate just cash cows to the health care system.
In short, I am speaking out. I will not be a victim of these few people who pass judgment without knowing anything about you. Please go anywhere else but here. These people will treat you the same way, and I don't want to see anyone treated this way. Go anywhere but here. I am one person, but I have over a million views as a Google contributor and have never given a bad review unless it was deserved. Please share this information and go somewhere where you will be treated like a human who deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, respect, and true care from professionals...
Read moreI took my mother in to the ER due to having chest pains, numbness in the face and feeling faint. They were busy due to the bad weather. Completely understandable. However a woman with chest pains, blood pressure was beyond high & we sat there for 45 mins before anything happen. We got to the room & were there for 6 hours. They gave her fluids, took an X-ray. Forgot to hook her back up when they brought her back. They were supposed to be monitoring her as she was having these attacks. I went out after she had been unhooked for an hour. They said they would have someone come hook her back up. 35 mins pass. No one came in to check on her once. No one came back to hook her up. Her fluids were done and blood was backing into the iv. I had to hit the nurse button. Regardless of how busy you are, you still need to do your job correctly. You can only go so fast. It’s truly sad. She had these attacks for 6 hours and no one did anything. She was admitted for observation and to run more test. I will say, I felt a little better about that. However no one was on the same page, & we kept getting different responses. I let it slide because of how busy they were. After she was admitted, The doctor that came in and explained everything was amazing. However there was a PA I believe her name was Christine, Not a 100% sure, However this girl with blonde hair was extremely rude. She had a completely rude attitude saying we need to get her out of here sooner than later when it was time for her to be released. Talking about how busy they are. Not to mention, there were plenty of beds open. There was no one in my moms room, and the room across hers, they were shared rooms, and they were not full. It’s sad to say, the few people that are good at what they do get discredit due to the disrespectful, non pleasant & non caring employees. I honestly think they need to re-evaluate their employees in the ER and the observation floor on the second floor needs to get rid of people that don’t know how to act. It was a joke. I am disgusted with the way they act, the things they say and their bedside manner. I would’ve gave less stars but due to a few of the doctors were very nice and...
Read moreWent to the emergency room on Thanksgiving day. (11/24/2022) Was a horrible experience from the time I walked in. I was in excruciating pain and was on one knee during the intake process. There was no concern for the obvious pain I was in and was offered no assistance such as aid in walking or even a wheelchair. Once my name was called I was offered no assistance or accommodation to make it to the patient room. I was freezing cold and had to request a blanket. I had bouts of vomiting and wasn’t offered a vomit bag until I threw up in ‘their’ sink. I heard about this issue with vomiting in the sink the rest of the night when a PA came in the room or when I was escorted to the CT scan. The first blanket I was given was wet with sweat from the pain I was in. I pushed the call button requesting another one. Eventually when I arrived for my CT scan I was given one. All the while you could hear the nurses and PA’s outside my room having a great time. This emergency room doesn’t care one bit about patient care especially if you don’t have insurance. My CT scan showed a large colonic stool burden and diverticulosis without evidence of diverticulitis. Despite this, I was released without any concern for a blocked colon which can often be fatal and no antibiotics prescribed. Instead I was sent home to lay in bed for 2 straight days with the most excruciating pain I’ve ever felt. I slept under 8 blankets because I was so cold and was sweating profusely due to the extreme pain I was in. I’ll NEVER use UNMC again! They show a huge lack of concern for their patients especially if you’re uninsured. I’m sure if I had insurance I would have been kept overnight for observation due to the stool burden. At minimum, I would have been released with a prescription for some type of pain medication and antibiotics. Then they immediately bill me $3800!!! What type of care did I receive for this outrageous amount of money??? If you have a choice then stay away from UNMC! Unless you have insurance then I’m guessing you’ll be taken care! Pathetic people with a lack of concern for the patient. It’s all about that...
