UPDATE TO ORIGINAL : Thank you for your response. As you stated you have been in business for 30 years then you should know that when a customer orders something and one of the items is missing or being substituted then that should be told to the customer so that THEY can decide if they still want it. I dont care what type of beef you use, if it was spoiled it was spoiled. Trust me, I know what bad meat tastes and smells like. You may want to check it or your marinade. I do not just throw away food on a regular basis. My review wasnt a personal attack on your establishment, 30 years is a long time for any business but if its somewhere Im eating Im going to be honest in my review. For you, it seems by other reviews that you dont like that and your response doesnt show accountability on your part for any of it. Just a laundry list of excuses. Take what is said and check into it. You may find that in this instance the customer is right. Ok, Im going to be as fair as possible becuz it wasnt all bad but it was far from what it should have been. Here we go. I ordered the #16 Combination appetizer. What I got was not what is listed on the menu. No chicken wings but there was breaded chicken that is used for sweet and sour. My teriyaki sticks were spoiled. Took one bite and knew to spit it out. Ugh.... The crab ragoon was good as well as the egg roll. The main order was garlic chicken. Sadly the sauce was very watery so not really sauce. Oh and my chicken was orange??!!! 😮 For the price that I paid I was underwhelmed by the quality, taste and accuracy of my order. I was going to order from my all time go to, The Rice Bowl but they are closed on Saturdays. Its unfortunate that they just didnt get it right. Sad now..... Below is what I will be throwing away and I HATE wasting food....
Read moreThis Sunday my family went to China Palace on Saddle Creek for lunch and were treated horribly. Understandably, there was a misunderstanding because of the language barrier, but what happened after was unacceptable. The waiter/manager placed the wrong order and when my mother tried to explain the misunderstanding, he began to mock and ridicule my parents. He told them they didn’t know English and should learn. My family has been to this restaurant several times and have order the same meal. We have never had any issues with any of the wait staff, until the manager was the one attending the table.
In addition, another family accompanied my parents. The man’s aggressive tone and gestures frightened one of the little girls so much that she almost began to cry and begged her parents to leave. My father tried to reason with the manager to lower his tone, but the manager continued to showcase my parents to the restaurant. Finally, my dad asked for the check, paid for the food, and left.
No one should be treated with this kind of disrespect. I wanted to share my parents’ story because we need to be aware that hate and discrimination still exist EVERYWHERE. We cannot be intolerant or passive. You don’t need to act with violence, but remember to stand with those who are being mistreated. Not one person said anything to the manager. We want to stop this mistreatment and it’s easier to stand together than divided. Let’s remember to love one another and treat each other with compassion,...
Read moreOkay, I've eaten here for over a decade in town, had I reviewed this in the first 8 of those years I would have scored China Palace 10 stars if possible... but now I give them three and here's why...
Atmosphere... still a 9/10... the dining area is comfortable and relaxing.
Service... still a 9/10... always had great service and still does... owners are friendly.
Prices... still a 9/10... fair considering how much food they give you per order.
Cleanliness... 6/10... not quite as clean as it once was but it's still acceptable in my opinion.
Lastly, the food itself... nowadays, I give it a 1/10... literally if I had reviewed this place years ago I'd have said their egg rolls, eggdrop soup, yum yum chicken dish and shrimp toast were the best Chinese foods in town bar none. Upon my last few years going here though, sadly the shrimp toast is the only one of these things that is still to die for... the eggrolls are often burnt now and do not taste as good unfortunately... the soup also tastes a tad different, but the chicken is where they have really fallen flat... its huge pieces, tough, and way WAY too doughy... such a shame. I dont know if the cook changed but too bad because I miss it the way it use to be, on top of that the yum yum sauce is my fav. but the last 2 years it is too heavy on ginger and tastes way different and not nearly as spicy... due to the food changing so much I had to...
