We arrived at 5pm to celebrate a birthday. Let me first say that we were greeted by rudely asked if we wanted to be sat or keep waiting for our party. When we were seated we were ask what we wanted to drink then waitress left the table without anyone ordering a drink. About 10 min later she came back to get our dinner order. We mentioned we would need to leave by 630. We ordered our food. I asked for a quesadilla. As they brought out the food, the manager is throwing the food down saying "that's hot" and walked away. My food came and it looked like a smothered burrito. I asked the guy bring out the food if this was what I ordered, a quesadilla. He said "il get your waitress". About 10 min later no waitress so I asked the manager. I said I had ordered the quesadilla, he said " that is the quesadilla" I said to him, there is no tortilla on this and he replied, "Oh you should've ordered the CRUNCHY quesadilla". This was left as an open question. I told him that I did not want this and he did not ask if I wanted something different or anything. I said again with a little more umph I am not going to eat this. He then said he would take it off my bill and grabbed the plate and asked me if I wanted to keep my fork (?????). Upset with how I was being talked to I said, Why would I need a fork with nothing to eat?. He snatched the fork and never came back. Don't get me wrong but we had 3 meals that were not correct. So I sat there until it was time to leave. We had told the waitress we were needing to leave soon, about 545. She came back 3 times and did not have out checks. 630 is the time and we were all trying to leave. We're told to first wait for our checks at the table, then told to go to her checkout stand, then to the front desk with the manager. Now it's 645, 2 of the 8 ppl have checked out. I bought 1 beer at 3.25. I gave him a ten, he has the balls to ask me if I wanted change...I was nice. I said yea. The last person in our party is finally checking out. He throws her cc back at her. Rude all around. They're attitude was waay to much not to...
Read moreJust visited Fernando's On Pacific tonight with a small group of people and it was by far the poorest example of Mexican food any of us have ever had.
I ordered the Quesadilla Grande which is pretty much a staple at any Mexican restaurant. From fast food to fancy sit-down the quesadilla is almost guaranteed not to disappoint, but not in this case. It essentially was a cheesy slop plate of food. It might as well have been put in a trough. The quesadilla was a pile of ground beef and other chunks of mystery meat encased in a thin shell of a flour tortilla which was then buried under a mound of cheese with a smattering of lettuce/tomato topping. Also on top was the sides of rice and refried beans. We even had to ask if it was the quesadilla, because just looking at it you wouldn't have been able to tell. It was absolutely horrible. I couldn't even finish a 1/4 of it.
The steak fajitas we ordered were sub-par at the very best. The flavor of the meat is hard to describe, because it didn't really taste like steak. It wasn't that it wasn't flavored, but more like they had used the cheapest taco spice they could find. The pieces were also just small and hard to chew. The best part about the steak fajitas was that they gave you a normal portion of guacamole and sour cream, which is the only way you could really force these fajitas down your throat.
We also ordered the #5, which was 2 enchiladas, of which we got chicken and beef. The chicken could only be identified as such because it was not beef and it was not seafood. It was so dehydrated that when I tried to eat a piece it actually crunched in my mouth...and it wasn't because it had been fried. It was the absolute worse piece of food I've ever seen served. If I had made it I wouldn't have even given it to my dog because I'd be afraid he'd choke on it.
If after reading this review you still decide to go here then you deserve what you're going to get. Don't say I...
Read moreIf you value good service and respect as a customer, avoid Fernando’s on Saturdays.
There is a manager on duty named Tanisha who creates one of the most hostile and unprofessional atmospheres I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. Instead of supporting her team and serving customers, she bullies employees to the point they’re afraid to even approach her. That kind of leadership has no place in hospitality.
My daughter and I have a weekend tradition chips and dip from Fernando’s. It’s supposed to be our little moment together. Normally, they’ll sell me the dip on its own, no problem. But this past Saturday, Tanisha flat-out refused. Not because she couldn’t, but because she wouldn’t. She didn’t want to press a few extra buttons, so instead of making a sale, she chose to be dismissive and rude. Think about that: a manager turning away paying customers, with attitude on top of it.
When I tried to use a $5 coupon from the app something meant to welcome customers back she talked over me, as if my voice didn’t matter. I wasn’t asking for anything free. I was simply using the offers Fernando’s itself provides, and paying full price otherwise.
Here’s the bottom line: in this business, respect is everything. Customers aren’t an inconvenience. Employees shouldn’t be treated like burdens. And managers shouldn’t poison the experience with arrogance and hostility. If you wouldn’t use that tone with your family or with God you shouldn’t use it with customers.
Fernando’s ownership: take note. You’re losing loyal customers not because of the food, but because of poor leadership. Until Tanisha is either retrained or removed from management, I strongly suggest people skip this location...
