La Plaza Fiesta — Restaurant in Omaha

The drinks look amazing just like the pictures, but the food quality is poor. The mozzarella sticks tasted refried and had a very weird consistency. The dipping sauce for the mozzarella sticks seemed like they poured cream in a used greasy pan, stirred it up, and poured it in a cup. Don’t get any of the combo plates because the enchilada sauce is very thick and dark like barbecue sauce and it overwhelms all of your dishes. Also warn your customers you’re serving Mexican ranch with the chips instead of queso. It took forever to get that taste out of my mouth. Lastly, the staff needs to communicate. We started the night off with three servers and being asked the same questions. And then toward the end of the night, we had to walk to the front desk to pay because nobody communicated who was coming back to the table to give us our checks. Been looking for a new favorite Mexican restaurant since Senior Matia's closed. (It's been a while) May have just found it. We made it here on opening day of this location. The staff was really friendly and attentive but not in an over the top way. My wife and I each had burritos that were superb. She had the Favorite Burrito (Steak), I had the Burrito Fiesta (Carnitas), both topped with cheese dip and paired with rice and beans. I can't begin to describe how amazing it all was. The steak was cooked exactly how steak in a taco or burrito should be, cut into thin strips and the carnitas was so tender that it fell apart and was so easy to cut with a fork. We also had table side guacamole that was perfectly executed. I haven't even mentioned the margaritas. If the food wasn't so good, we would come back just for the margaritas. This was so fun!! I love the new addition to omaha. This place is set apart from other Mexican restaurants because it has an amazing drink selection. They have so many margaritas, coladas, cocktails, and fun way to serve drinks. I tried the Monkey Margarita and the skinny margarita and could tell both included fresh ingredients. They are served with fanfare!!! Our server was very courteous and helpful when deciding what to order. The birria pizza was highly recommended and l'd say it was amazing. Very rich and filling. They have a decent sized food menu and huge drink menu. I liked all the pictures. There are no prices on the drink menu so ask ahead!! What drinks we got ranged from $16-20.
