I went to Pickleman's "Gourmet" Cafe after enjoying a movie at Aksarben Theatres. Intially my goal was to try Dickies Barbecue but they hadn't opened yet so I went next door to try Picklemans. I walked in was not greeted for an awkward 2-3 minutes while the two female employees talked to each other. One was right in front of me fiddling with a pizza. I (and my little nephew) was the only customer in the restaurant. I understand they were probably working on a delivery order but I would have appreciated, a smile, a nod, something? I was just about to walk out when 4 people walked in. They then switched gears a couple of minutes later, not immediately and here's where I decided to write a review. They both stood and just looked at me. No, how can I help you or any greeting at all just looked at me as if I was holding up the line. Again awkward, I looked at the lady behind me apologetically and tried to hurry. I did have questions as it was my first visit. They were answered shortly, hurriedly and not helpful at all. I ordered a salad and was given the wrong dressing thankfully I realized that before I put it on my "gourmet" salad and I might add that a 1/2 salad with chicken and a 1/2 sandwich (very small maybe 4 inches) and a kids meal ($5) was $19. I drank water. The price for the pick 2 was not listed. I was told that it starts at $6.99. I paid $13 I guess I had the "gourmet" Pick 2. I was confused about the pricing but the employees were so rude I didn't dare ask another question. Very...
Read moreThis was my first time trying Pickleman’s after receiving some recommendations. The sandwich was very good. However, I did find some flaws with the ordering process. Considering the restaurant was literally right across the street from my place of employment, why must there be a delivery fee? Now I would assume the delivery fee varies based upon 2 factors, total distance, and total order price. Therefore I found it a little silly/greedy for a delivery fee. I would have just walked across the street and picked it up myself but I was unable to leave the premises due to the nature of my work.
For nearly $10, I would anticipate the sandwiches would be a little bit bigger. The pictures may misrepresent the actual size. As well as, after looking through their website and app, I didn’t see any option to order a bigger size. The typical measurement you would see is 6” or 12” options. I saw 1 size and that’s it. Perhaps I overlooked or missed this option somewhere. However, after reading through commonalities among other reviews, I believe...
Read moreAfter waiting in line for 25 minutes and selecting my toppings they somehow lost my sandwich. The rest of our to go order had already left with my wife as I was planning to dine in. I canceled my order and requested a refund. The very confused manager produced $4 to me for a refund for the money I paid for a pick 2 and a cookie. He was trying to tell me the sandwich was never paid for even though I watched the sandwich assembly after they asked me my toppings selection. Unfortunately I lost track of my sandwich when I paid the manager. The other half of my pick 2 order sat patiently while they completed several other orders behind me. They did not give me a receipt for my purchase and I had no other evidence or desire to argue further. Beside the monetary loss the manager seemed absolutely unfazed and careless that they had thoroughly wronged me. I left with no food and less money than I arrived. I don’t know how one can order a pick 2 off their menu and then claim that one half of the order was not paid for at...
