Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe — Restaurant in Omaha

I’ve been to this location a handful of times and any time I go to this Pickleman’s, whether it’s by myself or not, something always happens.

One of the times my partner and I went here, there was an incredibly long hair in the tomato soup we were going to share. This isn’t surprising since not only do the workers not wear hairnets, but they will also have their hair not up in a ponytail/etc. This goes for all workers my partner, our friend, and I have seen, even management (which is where the hair in the soup came from).

Another issue I’ve run into at this Pickleman’s is multiple workers making comments about the sandwich I order. All my order is a veggie sandwich with turkey added. Multiple workers have made comments about how the veggie sandwich is “for people who don’t like meat, so why add the turkey?” and just overall saying that it’s weird and they don’t understand why I order it. I understand wanting to strike up a conversation, but making comments on people's food just isn't the way to go. Being given a hard time about the food I choose is very frustrating and happens every time I go to this location.

I already have issues surrounding food because I’m autistic and I wish people were more conscious of the impact of their words before...

First time at this location. The food was decent, just disappointed u can’t get sandwiches in a combo and it’s overpriced for the portion size and lack of meat. But really the reason for this score is the customer service. Neither girl was friendly, the gothic one at the register was talking in a whisper, didn’t know much (kept having to look and ask the other girl, Day I think her name was on my receipt) and didn’t smile one time or speak other then my total. I said thank you to both workers and they didn’t say a single word back nor did they ask if I needed anything else, or tell me thank you for stopping in. Wasn’t busy at all, literally one couple was in there! It’s really sad people aren’t trained to have basic customer service skills or to smile, make small talk etc. Will not be back and will not recommend.. way better sandwich places and much better customer service other places! Not sure if it was due to the color of my skin or what but wow, do...

This was my partner and I's first visit to any location from this chain. We were referred by someone who stopped by their place of employment.

First impressions were very welcoming. The interior was very clean and organized and we were greeted by the staff upon entering.

With it being our first visit we needed a little time to decide on our choices, and we were not rushed. Details about our considerations were explained, and samples of some of the ingredients were offered. The food itself was fresh and made to order, and it did not disappoint.

Our choices were the chicken salad sandwich and the Italian beef. Chicken salad had a good amount of craisins, and wasn't swimming in mayo. The balance of ingredients was perfect. As for the Italian beef, the giardiniera peppers offered a nice bite of spice, but not overwhelming to erase the flavor of the rest of the sandwich.
