Rusty's Pancake & Steakhouse — Restaurant in Ontario

After driving in from Eastern Idaho, we finally stopped to get a late lunch. We needed gas anyway, so we stopped in Ontario to fill up and grab a bite.

As we drove around we saw Rusty's and figured it looked interesting enough to eat at. It looks as if it was once an old church.

It immediately gives off heavy diner vibes as you enter. There was a cashier who told us to sit wherever. So we found a seat. There were no menus at the seats, so we waited to be helped. We waited for almost 10 minutes before a waitress came and gave us menus. I sat there thinking, if it was any longer we would have just gotten up and left. Patrons who came in after us got help before us, so we knew there wasn't exactly an order with things.

The waitress was nice and it was easy to tell she was doing her best. It was a Sunday afternoon, so they were plenty busy, but didn't have many waitresses.

I ended up ordering the streak salad. The steak was good enough, but they used ice burg salad that was old, had some brown and wilted. It was not appetizing at all.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they have better breakfast than lunch offerings. But what I ordered and what my brother ordered was not impressive.

I was there having lunch and there was only one other table in the whole restaurant that was occupied and they were clear on the other side of the room. I got up to go to the bathroom and i so happend to have a lottery ticket to cash in for $13.70 I left it on the table when I went to the restroom and I came back boxed my left overs paid my bill gave the waitress a $7.00 tip. When I went to the bar to cash my ticket I could not find the ticket anywhere. I checked my pockets and my to go food bag and it was no where. Could not find it. So I went to the waitress and asked her if she so happend to pick it up or saw it and she said " No sweety". Well I checked my pockets again and didnt find the ticket? Where did the ticket go to? Like I said there was only the waitress and the one other table of old women I highly doubt took it. So in other words watch out cause there are thief's that work there. Watch your credit cards on tips being over charged cause apparently there staff is untrustworthy. I suggest you be careful. The food was good they have great salads very fresh! And very good on portions well worth your bang for your buck! The steaks are seasoned very well and very tender. Just watch out for...

Bartender tries to rip you off. I'd go a few times and a drink would be the same price by two different people. Then I went and new bartender (cutest- but dumbest one) charged me twice as much for the same drink. Fine whatever, maybe it's weekend price. I go back again, and I asked for a shot of this and a shot of that w/redbull as a mix drink. She poured 1 second of the liqueur, and 1 second of vodka, and pours the redbull. She tells me the price, and I look at her, look at the drink, and tell her "I'm sorry but that's not even 1 shot of alcohol in that!" She gets all butt hurt and says "who's the bartender here?!" I respond again and say "I'm sorry. But you poured that right in front of these other people (pointed to them sitting at bar) and even they'll say that's not a single shot. So she gets all pissy, tries to fool me with a 2 second pour more (takes bottle from the glass and moves it up to make it seem like more alcohol but a two second pour is two seconds no matter what height.) So finally I have half of the shots I asked for, then she charges me double the price she told me just 30 seconds before. The owner needs a new Saturday night...
