I’ve been eating BBQ for 30+ years. My dad started a BBQ catering business, so by default I fell in love with barbecue. I’ve begun a barbecue rib taste testing tour, throughout the Lee County, Muscogee county, and Russell County area. Yawls ribs are the best ribs I’ve ever tasted! The smoke profile in the ribs is perfectly blended with a sweet and tangy seasoning but neither are overpowering. Light crispy outer texture but seamlessly still tender and juicy literally sliding off the bone. Not sure what type of pork ribs are used whether they are St. Louis trimmed style or baby back, but the size of the ribs were perfect. Got the Mac n Cheese and coleslaw that was a perfect combo with my ribs. To me, BBQ is about the heritage of the taste, the feeling of people becoming like a family within a community, and the customer service that makes you feel like they genuinely value you for more than your money spend. Y’all knocked all three out of the park from the ribs, the barbecue ambience and incredible and friendly staff that made us feel at home. We will be coming back weekly if not more! I would put y’all up against the “big” rib pit masters any day!

Visited this restaurant on Monday afternoon.... I will say that maybe this was the problem. It was after 4pm and everything was not up to temperature for me. I got a rib plate (4 bones) with mac and cheese and Brunswick stew and a pulled pork sandwich with the sweet BBQ sauce. The ribs were just off the grill...I mean they brought it in off the grill. The mac and cheese was on a hot table behind the counter and the person fixing my plate scooped it into the individual serving cup. The plate came with 2 sides, 2 slices of white bread and pickles which ended up being sweet 🤢 and not dill. The pulled pork sandwich was a standard sandwich on a bun. Ok the ribs were tough and dry and had no seasoning, the mac and cheese was cold and didn't taste like any mac and cheese I've ever eaten and thsts not a compliment. The white bread on the plate looked like pieces that were close to the ends so they were a bit hard. The pulled pork nas decent it was nicely seasoned but wasn't dressed with anything just more sweet pickles.. I didn't like the bbq sauce. I tried the sweet kind it was thin for my taste. They had sweet, hot, Al white and vinegar. They also had a good variety of drinks and tea available self serve and all you can drink while you dine. Inside dining room was spacious and they did have an outdoor patio that was cute and covered . I didn't get a picture of it. There was a good sized parking lot. I actually didn't see bathrooms but I'm sure they were there.

“Hey Google, give me the best places to eat In Opelika.” Well this bbq spot showed up and thank goodness I was craving bbq. So let’s start off with the environment and staff. The environment is soo cute. The spot was definitely any other bbq would have, small, little house-like buildings with old paintings and the smell of smokes in the air. I like it. Sure it may have some scraps but it really shows how old and historic it looks. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lady that took was very informative and polite. And the guy that gave my food was quick and clear. Also to mention I went on a Wednesday. Now with the food.. it was okay. Mid. The brisket was very tender and juicy, yet it had a taste to it. That I didn’t like. Same goes for the wings, grilled nicely and cooked throughly yet it had a taste that i couldn’t describe. My sides were stew and baked beans.. I wasn’t feeling the stew that much. The baked beans were ok. Genuinely this place was okay. I can’t say more than that. Also grab peanut butter pie, I did like that. It was creamy and delicious!! You guys should totally check out the place for yourself. Everyone’s opinions is different. I won’t be returning.

Every time I visit here I am underwhelmed by the experience. The bbq is only okay, nothing special at all. It's sometimes mushy and it's hard to detect any smoke flavor. The various sauces are delicious, though. As for the sides, today I got the Brunswick stew, which was watery even with the usual tomatoes and corn. I also got the Mac and cheese, which I have gotten before but always forget how awful it is. Although it has a smoky flavor, much more than the meat, actually, the macaroni is not cooked well and the cheese "sauce" is granular and chalky. The bread was dry, not quite the consistency of toast but on its way. And even though it was a cool day, there wasn't any ice in the fountain drink machine. All of this, with a 20% tip, was over $20. And it was always high even before inflationary pressures from last year. The staff is pleasant to deal with. The restaurant is clean and has a nice old-timey feel to it. I'm making it a resolution this year not to put myself through their food again.

Stopped by today at about 1pm and they were out of everything except the pulled pork and a few ribs... So I had the pulled pork lunch special with a sandwich, drink and chips and a pulled pork baked potato. The pork sandwich was solid. I'd say even good. I just wish it had more seasoning. The sauce (sweet) and the pickles (I'm not even a pickle person) made the sandwich. The potato was just ok-- I asked for everything but it was a little anemic. I'm sure it would have been better with the brisket. I love that charred smoky flavor. The sweet tea was also pretty good but I prefer to taste the actual tea leaves in my sweet teas. But this wasn't it. The banana pudding was also good. Pudding has a creamy texture, bananas were perfect. Not too mushy. Nice and sweet but no cookie wafers which I missed. Overall experience was solid. Hit the spot. Filled us up but not too much. Would come back if in the area.

Was a little disappointed in this place. It smells great, the reviews looked great, they have excellent customer service..... But I'm a big brisket fan, and sorry the brisket just wasn't up to par. It fell apart very nice, which seems like they did a great job of slow coming it, but the taste really fell short and it was a bit dry. Maybe it was an off day for them. They were kind enough to let us get the last rib they had and that was really really good. The green beans and brunswick stew were also really good too. We'll probably be back to give the ribs another go before we leave and hopefully the brisket will be better on the next round. GF picked up the chicken/pork combo with Mac n cheese and she said she loved all of that too.
