We were the first people in the place, early on a Sunday. I came up from Pcola and my lady came down from ATL. Our plan was to goof off in Auburn for a standard weekend, but we we actually spent the entire weekend in Opelika. Because reasons.
And the reasons are that there's so much to do in Opelika. After Friday evening rolling down main street, Saturday visiting the two (semi)local wineries and "downtown" distillery and brewery, we ended up at the Breeze Way.
It's a quaint place. I walked around a bit and snapped some photos, which I may or may not have posted. I'll check. But being the first customers of the day is cool. We met the incredibly nice owners, who brought us some grilled chicken pieces for free. Let them know if this is your first visit, because you have to taste the chicken! It's so juicy and tender that sorcery may be involved. Or aliens. I'm going with sorcery. I don't even like chicken and I would buy that stuff.
We both got a Reuben, which was pretty standard. Not exceptional, but perfectly in line with my expectations. The sandwiches came with fries, which made this the breakfast of champions.
Order at the moment counter, pay at the counter after you eat. They'll deliver your eats to the table. Pretty straightforward.
Coke products, which is great. Standard ice tea in the two ordinary varieties. I'm sure that water is available, but I never drink that swill when real beverages are available. No alcoholic drinks are available here.
Give it a go. Nice people and good food. Write a review, ?, profit. I saw that formula on teevee, so it has...
Read moreEXCELLENT food, EXCELLENT customer service and Southern hospitality, and EXCELLENT value for your money! The hostess, maybe the owner? offered us free boneless tenders sample with 3 different sauces when she found it it was it first time there ever, and it was great. Loved the grilled ones best but everything else we had (Breezeway club, grilled chicken tenders basket, chocolate cake, white chocolate bread pudding) was lovely too!
My daughter is still wondering what the recipe is for that bread pudding, said it was the BEST she's ever had! 👌🏽
Soon as we walked out someone else was asking us down the street if we knew anywhere around there to eat cause they were starving! Pointed them immediately to this restaurant knowing they will be well taken care of on all counts! Husband loves the vibe and the food, reminds him of him in the old towns of...
Read moreFood was just ok but customer service was terrible. My friend ordered the Gobbler which was supposed to be a turkey sandwich. Instead they brought out a ham sandwich. When my friend went to the counter to try and get the correct sandwich, everyone behind the counter and one obnoxious woman in the kitchen all started screaming at him. They said that was what he ordered and what he was given. My friend asked for his money back as they wouldn’t make the right sandwich for him and they refused, again saying he got what he ordered. My friend dumped the ham sandwich in the garbage can and told them we would never come back to their restaurant. I had eaten half of my club sandwich which was soggy and tasteless but at that point we just walked out. Stay away from...
