Always enjoy a good Irish pub. Being located in the middle of Alabama, this place is amazing. You think it belonged in Chicago, New York Dublin or Galway. I’ve been to Irish pubs in each one of those towns. I went to a crappy Mexican restaurant prior to going downtown Opelika. If you want to know which one read my other reviews. I was starving, it’s Good Friday and I wanted to stay on the fish train for us Holy Week for a us Catholics. Lol. Trust me, I need all the help I can, so therefore I’m trying to stick to the rules. I ordered a salmon with a white sauce on top along with broccoli and grits. The salmon was cooked perfectly along with the sauce was very tasty. The Grits cook perfectly with a great taste in it in the broccoli was steamed perfectly. I think what really topped the experience was our server, whose name was Carter, she was a joy and very friendly. Spent about three hours there between lunch and drinks moved inside due to us getting a little toasty outside. The decor inside was beautiful. The building is from the late 1800s with the indoor tin roof Ceiling that has been painted, walls are in the dark old wood. The atmosphere was relaxing, enjoyable, and truly reminded me of a pub in Ireland. Some pretty cool art on the walls Highly suggest if you’re in the area and want to drink or a good meal, try IBP out. Downtown Opelika has got some great shops and a pleasant walk around the area just to occupy some time. Peace Erin Go braugh

It has been a while since we have been to the establishment but decided to take my sister there for lunch. I told her we had to order the Maytag chips last time we were there there were amazing! Today I ordered them and they were nowhere like they way they used to be very disappointed in that! Would not recommend those blue cheese was too strong and there was something that was missing they did not taste the same. Now they serve them in an aluminum take out container versus a plate. No big deal on that but just still disappointed in the taste. We ordered the fish and chips and you cannot go wrong with that fish was amazingly good! The fries were nice and hot and the tea was very good too. Only wish that the waiter would have come by a little bit more frequently to ask if we needed refills but he was good otherwise. Once again highly recommend fish and chips but until they get their Maytag chips recipe corrected will not order those and would not recommend those ever! If it wasn't for that I would give them a perfect five.

The hostess was very nice and welcoming upon entrance of the restaurant. She asked if we preferred sitting at a table or bar area and we stated whichever would be easier for the waiter. We were seated at the bar and it honestly took some time for the bartender to notice us. I felt bad for him having been a bartender before he was required to wait tables, fix drinks, and take bar orders. He seemed exhausted which is why I still have four stars. I wish he wasn’t so swamped and there were more people helping around the bar area on a Saturday at lunch time. Once we got our orders everything was perfect. I ordered the crab cakes for my appetizer (which were kind of small for the price of $10) and the veggie burger which costed less than my app ($9). Everything was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back again!

Good food in a nice setting, but occasionally slow service. The restaurant is set in a dark building in downtown Opelika along the railroad tracks. There is a large bar downstairs and smaller upstairs, with seating in 3 different areas, including one on the second floor. The food is all pretty good, perhaps not the best Irish food I have had, but definitely better than many in the south. I recommend the Shepherd's Pie, the Maytag chips, the Irish fries appetizer is really good, and the Fish and Chips is also decent. The Salmon sandwich is also very tasty. Service is often slow and occasionally poor, I waited on a drink refill from when we got food to when we finished our main meals. 9/10 for location and atmosphere 8/10 for food 6/10 for service on the whole
