The fish was fried to perfection but it was a little too salty. The owner or woman standing behind the front counter is Rude and has no good customer service etiquette. She stood there wearing a hoodie and leaned over the register staring out at customers as if she was bored. I also witnessed her being rude to her staff on numerous occasions. She constantly called for her staff to come from the back to refill customer drinks, which apparently wore on the staff's nerves. It seemed fairly odd that the woman would ask the staff to come out from the kitchen to refill drinks when it was clear the owner had nothing to do and the drink dispenser was right next to her up front behind the front counter. Rude and Nasty owner. In addition, a nice lady was attempting to make casual conversation with the rude owner while she was placing he order and she wouldn't even bulge or respond with neither a smile or a conversation. I thought it was just me but it was most of the women she was mean too. Perhaps, she has a problem with women. While I enjoy visiting local venues, this isn't one I would frequent often, simply because I pride myself on doing business with establishments that exude excellent customer service ettiquette by being kind to customers, and respects their staff enough not to be rude and nasty to them. If you have to discipline your staff, at least have the courtesy to do it out of the paying customers' eyesight. Having good food isn't enough to maintain a successful business. Your customers are the backbone to your business! Then you wouldn't have a need to try to force people to leave tips on take out orders. Rude owner lady, tips are earned, not given! I've over tipped by $50 to $100 to people that go over and above to make sure the customers are taken care of. You don't qualify for even a thank you with...
Read moreI went to this new restaurant for the first time today. I got the fried oyster and fried fish plate with a side of coleslaw and french fries. Yum yum! Man was it ever good! The french fries had a light crisp on the outside and were some of the best I’ve had in a long, long time. The shrimp were flour fried and a pretty good size. a member of our party got the oyster Poboy. It did not look impressive to me, but I married a Cajun and lived a long time in Louisiana, so my poboy standards are high. I forget the name of my server, but she was absolutely lovely person and very competent, friendly and efficient. A lot of people were getting orders to go, but we sat at the table and she came and waited on us. The establishment was very clean and nicely decorated. I wish the seats were more comfortable, but hey, the friendly service and nice food made it a huge win! The other two people with me thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. When you go to try this place out please note that the parking lot traffic is only one way. Driving direction to is indicated by the huge white arrows...
Read moreThe po-boys, fried fish, and fried shrimp, we've had were good. Larger shrimp than we expected, for sure.
Not a bad thing - just a thing the salad-lovers need to know - the 'salads' are more a 'plate with sides that include salad' than a bowl situation. See my photo of the plate with grilled shrimp - that is a "grilled shrimp salad" according to the menu. It was good - just diff.
Most southern local fried food places don't have grilled options, but this one does. Awesome news if your fam likes fried food, but Dad doesn't have a gall bladder! 😆
As far as the service goes, we only saw one server both times we've been. Slow lunch = no problem. Saturday evening dinner with a rush = we had problems. Our entrees came out before our appetizer. Nothing they brought to the table had the condiment or sauce it was supposed to have, and getting the salad dressings, cocktail, tartar, refills, and such took a while...while we sat there looking at our food. We've had a super nice waitress both times we've gone, but I will probably to-go until they have worked out the...
