Walked in and there was a manager training a new cashier on how to properly run a transaction, cool cool but ummm don't let a customer overhear how slow it's been and that each person only made 2 50. You being slow on a Sunday when you should've been hoppin for brunch doesn't tend well to a customer's ear. Also, tell employees who are on their last day not to talk about it so loudly from the kitchen that everyone can hear. We don't need to wonder why they're leaving and how high your turn over rate is.
My partner ordered an omelet, she stated the only real flavors were the ham and roasted red pepper, that the green pepper was killed and there just wasn't much to it.
I had the nachos. While nobody wants to reach the center only to find all the toppings were on top and you only have a plate of chips, they also don't want to reach the bottom only to have a soggy mess. Firm up the chili, get a thicker chip (these broke consistently) and find a happy medium.
__that's about it for this location
This review is really more for corporate in Spartanburg, SC than it is for this location directly.
Denny's is going downhill and it's sad to watch them grasping for straws. The menu is now primarily breakfast items, this menu had 5 sandwiches, 5 burgers, 2 salads and 7 suppers on this location's menu but only 5 on Denny's official website yet they're open 24hrs which doesn't give a ton of choices.
Denny's serving alcohol options?? I'm sorry but who's gonna think hmm I want a drink with supper, oh yeah, Denny's.
Their Influencer items is another grasp at straws trying to stay current and the 3 of those don't look super appetizing.
Lyon's restaurant in NorCal which is likened to Denny's on it's Wiki was awesome and always packed. They opened in 52 and shut down in 2012. I'm watching Denny's follow suit. In my 20s (1990s) Denny's was THE PLACE to be on Friday nights in NorCal before we headed out to whatever party or club and then again after before heading home. I know this to be true in other places as well from friends and travel.
My partner yesterday and I agree, grab a few flavored syrups and Denny's can probably run IHOP into the ground but otherwise this is watching a slow death.
I've lived in Spartanburg, there's not a lot going on there and I'd hate to see the HQ go away.
Fingers crossed for your Denny's,...
Read moreMy mom was looking forward to Denny's today. She's from out of town and I have lived in nearby Deltona for the past 20 years. So when she's here, Denny's is her go to place, lol. Unfortunately today was a horrible experience. Ann our waitress, was pleasant speaking, trying to interact with her customers. I feel that's important for the experience. After taking our order, she moves on to the next table. Takes their order and begin to chat a bit. Normally not a big deal for me, but she never submits order. Her conversation goes on for 10 minutes. So I wait. Management calls to her, she left other customers waiting and their food has been ready. I still wait and notice people who were after me already been served their meals, soup, salad, then their main course!? When I ask about our meal, she apologize. Comes with the excuse of a backed up kitchen. I understand, but why were other people being served?! I waited and my mom is upset with the experience. Rebecca (I assume management) approaches my table to apologize, then proceeds to make excuses!?. She tells me to see her when I'm ready to pay for meals. As I approach the counter, I see her sitting at a table, talking to the waitress. She sees me, then walks away to hide!? I'm about to pay, my mom calls out to her. Rebecca approaches counter, says hi, and begins to say thank you, no one ever calls for her???? I tell her, she was the one that insisted I see her, she pretends not to remember. How can that be when she mentioned it 15 minutes prior! I paid for the meals, I wished them a great day, regardless of the service received by them. We exchange good byes. She knew my mom was upset but my mom kept it to herself. My mom was opening the 2nd door for outside, past the initial door and Rebecca yelled at her, Have a great day and laughs with the cashier. If you don't believe me, check the cameras at the Orange City location around 1:35pm Sunday 8/06/23. I'm wearing black shirt with a map of California and my mom is wearing a white shirt with the words Texas. I've always enjoyed coming here, but I don't mind having breakfast at Bravo or drive to Cracker Barrel. My review probably doesn't mean anything to anyone. I personally don't think anyone should be...
Read moreDenny's in Orange City FL is my go to breakfast spot. The food is always fresh and the staff have great attitudes. My experience yesterday on 9/27/23 around 10:15 am made me like this place even more and feel valued as a customer. My litte one was not feeling well and asked me to stop at Denny's to get him pancakes on the way from his doctor's appointment. I went in to place a to go order and was greeted by a lovely young woman at the front that looked up, greeted me with a genuine smile, and asked how she could help. She proceeded to take my order keeping the same beautiful energy and read everything back to me on point and professional. She told me my order would be ready in 10 minutes and low and behold it was ready to go although the restaurant was busy. She brought me my bag of food, gave me a beverage for my little one, and smiled and told me to have a wonderful day and thanked me for coming in. As always the food did not disappoint but what made this order extra special was when I got home, there was a cute little handwritten note in my bag that said, "I hope you have a great day and always remember you are worth it, Your order taker", I was blown away that she would take the time to do that because you don't come across many people these days to do something like that. I was having a rough morning and she had no clue but her kind words really touched my heart and made me smile and gave me a push to get through the day and I put that note up on my desk for motivation. I checked my receipt and that lovely lady name is Maria T. This young lady deserve to be acknowledged and uplifted for her kindness and professionalism. Because of you Maria T. I will continue to be a patron of this restaurant and encourage others to come. Thank you for...
