It's Sunday before Labor Day 2023. My family and I decided to eat, but where? We were so hungry and so many places to go here in Central Florida, but where?
So, in Google, my son found Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill in Orange City. We have eaten in other various Mexican restaurants here in Orange City since from eight years ago, and they were ok, however, the first time here at Fiesta...
His question was, "I'm interested in finding out why in reviews they scored 4.3 out of 5 rated max. This score was really intriguing with 1198 reviews."
We arrived, and the first impression was how colorful the decorations, different colored chairs, bright colors everywhere, and clean.
We were greeted by a woman, which my son said, she's the abuela of the restaurant. It's not really confirmed. However, she and the waiters were outstanding.
It was happy hour, two for one drinks, and I really wanted an original margarita. This drink was also awesome and plenty of it.
We ordered different items from the menu, and in around 10 to 15 minutes, the food arrived. The plates were so full of food that we knew take home was in the plan.
In the beginning, chips and salsa were freshly made. All began and ended well. Did I mention that the taste was awesome from all the food we ordered.
At the age of six, my dad taught me to build and work in a supermarket in Harlem, New York. By age thirteen, dad taught me to build and run an extremely successful restaurant.
Food has been our target in our lives since the 1950s. Having experience eating great food is a blessing, and Gordon Ramsay isn't the only great chef. Listen up Aaron Sanchez and Joe Bastianich. Here, you will NOT find a $43 hamburger. Prices are into $10 to $20 for a nice plate of Mexican and Texas food. Did I mention awesome?
Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill has an awesome chef, too. Now we know why Fiesta Grande... ...has great reviews.
While there, we were already planning for delivery into the future etc, etc. I heard they have music on weekends, and most people were pleased to enjoy life dancing and enjoying the wonderful tastes of Mexico and Texas.
In the future, if If you have received a disappointing plate of food, call the waiters, and they'll correct it at the moment. Thank you, Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill, for a new wonderful experience... My kids and grandkids enjoyed all of it...
PS: My son reminded me... ( "Lol, you forgot to add that. When my son saw abuelita, he knew the place and food were going to be good! đ")
Gut feeling, kiddo......
Read moreI am from Chicago. I was raised around Latinos, especially Mexicans. I eat Mexican food 2x a week. I also lived in California for 3 years recently. I came down here for a visit and I can certainly say these reviews are overrated.
My family and I tried this place because of the star rating on Google maps. We will never return. I will explain service than food.
Location is great. Next to the casino. In the Save-A-Lot parking lot.
Service was subpar at best. When we entered the facility it was dead. We were able to seat ourselves. The staff took awhile to bring us the chips and salsa. They even had a few tables that were not cleared. I worked in food service before as a dishwasher and busser. A slow day was a blessing and curse for me. We still gave it a chance.
Food... Hmm how can I say this. The previous reviews which had five stars must have been food trolls who wanted us to spend money to the flavorless God. I should have followed my instinct and left when I notice the menu itself did not have taco meat options. You know the beef, steak, chicken, pork, and cow tongue. I ordered the carne asada (skirt steak), while my other family member ordered crunchy tacos (never seen that before at a true Mexican restaurant), and my final family member ordered a beef chimichanga which was actually chicken.
Carne asada was very bland. Maybe the thought that offering different hot sauces will be able to cover the dread of spending $10 plus bucks on flavorless steak. Hell, they didn't even had the decency to offer limes. The crunchy tacos were average if you believe average is a pinch of seasoning and a prayer. You are better off to buy Old El Paso seasoning packs than to waste money ordering this garbage. The chimichanga was not even touched. I mean anything fried usually is eaten in this family. Not this evening.
My family ordered fried ice cream for dessert. First these people used corn flakes to mask the fact that they never fried it. The ice cream was flavorful. Which was surprising since it was brought in by another vendor. The pastry was like eating flavorless Chinese cookies without the fortune.
In conclusion how this place stayed in business is surprising.
I would not...
Read moreI'm writing this review because I'm really unhappy with my last several experiences at this restaurant. I had previously been going to this establishment once a week for lunch. I always order the same thing... chicken quesedilla. It's a lunch special. You can get grilled or shredded chicken. I always get the grilled.. After ordering this exact same thing for months and months, a server told me that the grilled chicken is not part of the lunch special, only the shredded is. I explained that I have been ordering this for months and she insisted that it was not part of the special. After getting another server involved, it was confirmed that the grilled chicken was in fact part of the lunch special, and they adjusted my check. The next time I went I unfortunately got the same server, who insisted that the grilled chicken was not part of the lunch special. Once again I got someone else involved, this time a manager who verified that the grilled chicken was in fact part of the lunch special, and my check was adjusted. On my next visit I got a different server, and had no problems whatsoever. But on my last visit I got the server who once again harassed me over it. This time she asked "would you like grilled or shredded?" I said grilled. She them told me that the grilled chicken was not part of the lunch special, as if mocking me by even asking which I wanted. This is after she has been previously told a few times by management that it was part of the special. I didn't even fight it this time. I was just over it. I paid the extra $5 for the quesedilla, didn't leave her a great tip and left. I'll never go back. I don't know if this server is clueless, or if she has something personally against me, but she alone has cost this restaurant my business. Terrible customer service and she obviously doesn't care about the customers experience, or the...
