Vibe: casual Kids: No kids menu, but my 3 year old approved of the Sesame chicken. I also think the honey chicken or chicken on a stick would be a good alternative if you have a picky kid. Chinese Food: Family style. Dishes are meant to be shared. Entrees just come with white rice but if you're rollin' solo, they will sub for fried rice for an upcharge. Sesame chicken was cooked perfect, but not as flavorful as I would have liked. Crab rangoon was very good. Fried rice was on the drier side and comes with peas and carrots (my husband is a strict NY style lover), but no complaints overall. Thai: Husband had the Tom Yum soup and declared it wasn't as spicy or flavorful as Debary Thai's, but was good nonetheless. He also ordered the Thai Spicy Shrimp. Again, food was cooked perfect, but not packed with flavor and did not find it spicy at all. Service: excellent
The food was cooked really well, but was lacking in flavor. I would normally chalk this up to maybe an off night, but this is the 4th/5th restaurant where we've experienced this in the area. Feels like locals are driving the spice out of these restaurants. We will definitely be back though as the service was good, the food was still really well prepared, the pricing was decent, and their menu is...

My partner started off with the seaweed salad. Thankfully I wrangled a taste. Very nicely done. The seaweed was presented over julienne cucumbers and is done in a sesame seed and hot chili dressing. Just the right amount of heat. My partner also had chicken and cashew with white rice. Decent sized portion. Flavorful. I opted for the red coconut chicken curry with white rice. On a scale of 1 to 5 for heat, I was expecting a 3. My heat level was closer to 4.5. That said, it was very tasty and also a decent size portion. Nicely presented. We finished with a slice of cheesecake, NY style. Again - well done. 2 soft drinks rounded out our meal. Bill came to $53 before tip. We ended up taking half our meals home so considering we got 2 meals out of our dinner out,...
Read moreJust had a fantastic late lunch in Orange City after gambling at the card room. The Royal Asian Bistro is in a Publix shopping center with a nice dining room. We were greeted immediately and seated. They have an expansive menu with Chinese, Japanese and Thai favorites.
We started with a volcano roll and a shrimp mango roll. Both were very good. Everything was fresh and presented nicely.
My brother had the hot eggplant and it was filled with beef, chicken, shrimp, Chinese eggplant in a rich brown sauce. All the meat was perfectly cooked and tender. The sauce was flavorful and it was a large portion.
I decided on the mango beef on the Thai menu. The beef was extremely tender, the vegetables were all fresh and perfectly cooked and the sauce had a little bit of sweetness and a little bit of spice. I loved the chunks of mango.
We have lots of leftovers. Our server Michelle, was attentive with a genuine smile.
We will definitely head back and try more on the...
