New to the area and trying to support small local businesses during COVID. I guess the worker became angry at me because she couldn’t hear me through my mask and also got mad at me because I stood outside while waiting for my order to prepared.

5 PEOPLE can be in the store at 1 time. Not 4 people, 5 people! Because of course we all know that! Also there was no visible sign inside stating this. So even if your uncomfortable during a global pandemic around talking and laughing strangers in an enclosed space DO NOT speak softly with a mask or wait outside at this spot. But wait! I stepped back in when the store cleared out and was told my order was not made because I stepped out. This is when I was angrily told that only 4 people were inside the store and 5 was allowed. The other day I got, Pit Stop Barbeque & Restaurant, for lunch. I ordered their small Jerk Pork w/ Rice & Beans, and Cabbage, with a side of Mac n Cheese. Their Jerk Pork was terrific! Nice portion sizes, great flavor, the sauce used to top the Jerk Pork, and the pork had an excellent meat to fat ratio. The rice was very fresh and had great flavor as well too. The cabbage was very home-y and was an excellent compliment to the meal. The Mac n Cheese was not so tantalizing though. The cheese used was very good, but the noodles, and overall flavor was not good at all. It tastes like plain baked noodles with a layer of cheese added on top. The staff was very kind and patient. The lady who took my order was extremely nice. All in all, I’d absolutely be trying, Pit Stop Barbecue & Restaurant, again. I was excited to try this place but it was just okay in my opinion. I ordered a beef patty and a large jerk chicken dinner.

The beef patty was flavorful but the crust needed some work. It was on the thinner side so the patty was a little soggy.

The jerk chicken dinner comes with the chicken, rice and peas, and cabbage. Cabbage was as expected. The rice was also good and cooked to perfection. The texture of the chicken was great very tender. However, the flavor was where this whole experience went left. I did feel that the chicken itself lacked flavor. I got some of their “sauce” on the chicken but I didn’t enjoy the sauce. It had a strange tangy flavor that I didn’t think paired well with jerk.

Service was fast. Cashier wasn’t very friendly. Probably would not come back but this place does seem to get a lot of business so I think you really have to try it out for yourself. Prices...
