Pulp Juice Bar — Restaurant in Orange

I have been to Pulp numerous times for acai bowls and will not be returning. FOR A GOOD ACAI BOWL, GO TO BLUE BOWL which is located at the Orange Circle. They have more choices of toppings, bases, granola, sweeteners, powders and make the best acai bowls by far. Their customer service is also excellent.

I wanted to support small business, but at Pulp, the menu is limited and the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a LONG WAIT...even with phone orders. One time, I placed my order and then went next door to Waba Grill for two chicken bowls. By the time I came back with my Waba order, the workers at Pulp hadn't even started working on my two acai bowls. Another time, tired of waiting, I decided to call in my order. I arrived ten minutes after placing the phone order, and they hadn't even started making my bowls, yet four people were working behind the counter.

I finally stopped going to Pulp and moved my business to Blue Bowl after they messed up on my order and tried to charge me for it. It's fine that the mistake was made, as no one is perfect, but charging the customer is not taking responsibility for the mistake. I ordered two acai bowls; they were placed in a bag; and when I took them out to eat at home, I found out that were made incorrectly. I immediately called Pulp, telling them I didn't have time to drive back. The person on the phone said that she would make things right. When I returned a couple days later, I ordered two more bowls, thinking they wouldn't charge me since they messed up on my previous order. I explained the entire situation, and they refused to give the bowls for free, saying that they were expensive to make and that I claimed to eat them. Since I continued to complain, they offered one bowl for free, as if they were doing me a favor. They seemed to have forgotten that they made the mistake, not me. Whether the bowls were eaten or not was irrelevant to their mistake on the order.

I ended up walking out of Pulp without receiving my corrected order, because I wasn't going to pay for it when it wasn't my mistake. I questioned if I was being unreasonable but realized that wasn't the case based on past experiences of myself and others at other establishments that have good customer service. At comparable juice/acai bowl businesses, like Jamba Juice, Nekter, and even Blue Bowl, when a mistake is made on the customer's order, replacing or correcting it is a given. They even go as far as giving the customer a coupon or free item the next time for the inconvenience that was caused. This is what reputable establishments do.

I have not returned to Pulp but instead have found a better small business for acai bowls and wanted to share that business with Yelp readers. Support Blue Bowl. You will not be...

Ricky was friendly, very patient , and welcoming. He took my order and made the drinks. I had the Cucumber cooler, Love me more and Bloody Scarlet. Love me more was a tad on the sweet side for me but it was still a good drink and the cucumber cooler wasn't as set, especially since Ricky modified it's sweetness based on my preference. The bloody scarlet was perfect it had the perfect sweetness and the beets taste wasn't overwhelming like other places I've had a drink with beets.

Ricky definitely heard me, listened to what I preferred and made recommendations according. He sent above and being to ensure I liked my drinks and he even told me to let him know if there's something that needs to be changed , modified etc. Ricky's customer service was amazing and I appreciated his patience and going above and beyond to ensure I liked my drinks. They also have Acai bowls.

There's a lot of parking spots but it can get busy since they're are a lot of businesses in the area.

I highly recommend you give them a try.

I have been to some bad places for boba tea and this is by far the worst. Their prices are ridiculous, they took forever, and their boba tea was not good. They also overcharged me for everything I ordered saying they haven't updated the prices...even though they are written on a CHALK BOARD. I ordered Thai Tea and a Honey Milk Tea. My son couldn't finish his Thai Tea. It was so sweet, the more he drank the thirstier he got. My milk tea was so watered down that I poured it into my sons Thai Tea to try to make it drinkable. It didn't work, we ended up tossing our drinks in the trash. The only thing we liked was the actual boba which they charged extra for.

Also, regarding their ridiculous prices, they sell a giant 3.9L bag of milk tea for $40!! If you buy this I guarantee your IQ is very low. 3.9L is about 131 ounces, that is almost the same as 4 large 32 oz drinks which would come out to $29.
