This place couldn’t turn a table to save their life. Ridiculous how long we had to wait to be seated when there were so many opportunities we could have been seated. The host was very green and it showed. Let me explain: on many occasions, could have offered to split our party into two tables or combine smaller tables to accommodate our party instead of seating smaller groups that came after us. Once we got seated, our table wasn’t even properly prepared. The previous party spilled water over the seats and floor and they weren’t cleaned up. No servers in sight to take our order (which we had pleeeenty of time to contemplate).
Food would have had to be absolutely transcendent to overcome the bad taste left in my mouth before any food ever hit it. It came up woefully short.
Notes on the food: pea shoots were undercooked braised eggplant with spicy garlic sauce was one-dimensional (just spice). Severely lacked depth of flavor (and flavor in general). A shame because this is one of my favorite dishes at Chinese restaurants roast pork was an embarrassment. Thinly sliced in a failed attempt to hide that it was dry and lean. The skin was the soggiest, least crispy I’ve ever had. Also came toward the end of the meal when it should have been an appetizer failed to serve one of our dishes until we reminded them. It didn’t even come out hot fish maw soup came out very peppery. Let diners add the pepper to their preference honey walnut shrimp was over-fried and some of the shrimps only tasted of breading and oil white rice was $2/bowl and they were still very stingy with it
Other notes: plates and utensils were clearly dirty. There was a oily residue on pretty much every plate. My plate had a sticky substance on it food came out so slow that we finished each plate before the next one came out tables were set with forks and spoons instead of chopsticks. Chinese people were a minority of the clientele. Take this as you like (we should’ve taken it...
Read moreThe dining experience didn't start off great because the cloth napkins smelled like they haven't been washed thoroughly. All of the plates were greasy, too; see 1st pic. The beer was overchilled, leaving a layer of ice floating at the top of the glass; see 2nd pic. "Ice cold beer" is just an expression—it shouldn't literally be icy.
Items ordered: house special string beans, French style filet mignon, honey walnut shrimp, chicken lo mein, and pot stickers (not pictured).
The food was good, but there were several issues with some of the dishes. The pot stickers tasted a little undercooked because they were too soft and doughy. The lo mein felt a little dry and tasted a little bland compared to the other dishes, so it could do better with a little more sauce. There was very little chicken in the lo mein as well.
The service had some good parts and some bad parts. They sat us quickly, and were quick to serve us our food. They even bagged our leftovers for us at the end. I'm taking off some stars for the dirty dishes, the smelly napkins, and the partially frozen beer. Seriously, the condition of those dishes and napkins is unacceptable for...
Read moreI recently dined at Dynasty, a popular Chinese restaurant located at 1407 East Katella Avenue in Orange, California. As a fan of Chinese cuisine, I was eager to try their lunch special. Here's my take:
Mongolian Beef with White Rice: The lunch special featured Mongolian Beef, and it exceeded my expectations. The tender beef was perfectly cooked, and the savory sauce had just the right balance of flavors. Paired with fluffy white rice, it made for a satisfying meal.
Green Tea: The green tea at Dynasty deserves a special mention. It was undoubtedly the best I've had in Orange County. The subtle aroma and soothing warmth complemented the meal beautifully.
Service: The waitress was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. Her warm demeanor made the meal even more enjoyable.
In summary, Dynasty offers a delightful dining experience with its flavorful dishes, excellent service, and inviting ambiance. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, this restaurant is worth a try. I'll definitely be returning for more of their...
