So I went there on the 23rd and it's been 3 days and I'm still unhappy with my entire experience. So I'm posting here too (did a yelp review already) My husband my 5 yo and I went to sammys for breakfast and the check was 50.00 before tip! They were crowded as can be expected on a Sunday but we were seated quickly which is nice. But then everything was not great. There was so many condiments on the table that there was no room for our food. The server never offered to clear anything out. They got my husbands order wrong and while they did replace it I had to practically grab the server on their way by to get their attention and then we got some attitude like there's no way they brought the wrong food. Then they didn't even apologize or discount it. My meal was the "build your own pancake" deal and it came out to 12.49 even though the menu says 9.99 and doesn't specify there is an upcharge depending on the pancakes. My child's meal did not include a drink and the kids drink was 2.99!! and it wasn't even ever refilled. I asked for a kids water as well and all they brought was two regular waters which didn't fit on the table. They brought a huge carafe of coffee even though only one person was drinking coffee and it was yet another item on the table and another reason to not come and check up on our meal. The food was ok. The whipped topping on my very dry banana pancakes tasted very artificial I ate half the pancakes before I even found a banana. But the hashbrowns were plentiful I like the non-crispy bit of the hashbrowns and there was a lot of it. Which was nice to me but I know that's not always the case. Anyway I guess there's a big discount if you check in on yelp. Which I didn't know so I just got charged more. Seems like it'd be better to ditch the "coupon" and not inflate the price. I won't...
Read moreThey had a solid steak and eggs combo. I have a big appetite, so I thought I'd order the Steak & Eggs combo, plus an additional side of hash browns. I assumed the portions would be pretty small, but man was I wrong. Such a huge hunk of meat. Your food doesn't come on a plate, it comes on a platter. You got 3 eggs, a metric ton of country fried potatoes, 3 hefty pancakes, and a caveman worthy steak. You won't need an extra side.
-To put this in perspective- After I finished my meal I still had to order 2 separate boxes for the leftover steak, hash browns, country fried potatoes, and pancakes. So don't feel like you have to order too much, they'll take care of you XD-
The steak was delicious, so were the country fried potatoes and hash browns. Perfect crunch, with a great ratio of stir fried onion and green bell pepper. You can't mess up eggs over easy, but they were tasty ;)
I would deduct half a star only because my waiter was super busy and it seemed like they were understaffed, since she was actively helping 3-4+ tables. However, I did ask another server and they helped me out perfectly.
Nice little diner. Definitely coming back for some more steak. Really...
Read moreI came for a quick brunch with my friend Thursday afternoon around 12:30. They weren't busy at all and we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and fast, you can tell she knew what she was doing. I went with the French toast combo with over easy eggs, sausage, hash browns and cinnamon swirl french toast. My friend kind of hyped it up because he's been there before so I had high expectations. Our food came out very fast. I would say in 5-7 min. When I first saw the French toast, I was a little disappointed because it looked so different to me. I think it's the bread they use. But when I took a bite it was great! It was sweet but not too overwhelming. The hash browns really stood out to me as well. It's hard to find a good place that make the hash browns to your liking. Sometimes they're burnt or too flat or not cooked enough but these were great and a they give you a hefty serving. Overall, I enjoyed my brunch here plus they serve beer and wine! What a plus! They have so many food options and they're open late so everyone can find something here. Will definitely...
