Read moreOk, so I want to start of by saying that I like this restaurant. The food, service from the wait staph, and atmosphere is great in normal circumstances. However I do not have normal circumstances. I have a larger service dog for mobility assistance and some other issues. I ate here for the past 2 nights. My pup is big so I usually get a booth so that we are out of the way of traffic and there is less encounters with her. Being as large as she is, I usually put her laying on the bench seat opposite of me so that she does not have to lay on the bars of the table or take up leg room. Sometimes, If the bench is long enough, i will put her laying beside me. Mind you, she is verry well trained and does not mess with the table at all. While I understand that it is well within the rights of the restaurant to not allow her to be on the bench, I have almost never had any issues with it. Typically, I wouldn't have an issue with it if the restaurant was polite and asked me not to have her on the bench, but that is where the issue lies.
Yesterday, I was seated by a woman who barely spoke to me at all. Than later, but before I ordered, she came to the table and told me that I can't have her on the bench. Nobody else seamed to mind her being there, but I simply sead ok and moved her to underneath the table. I was also verry anctious the whole time because of the way this person was towards me.Today, I did not see her and I thaught that maby it was just her, so I put her sitting beside me. I still had the weard anxious feeling, but it wasn't as bad. Nobody seamed to mind her at all but when I was basically finished the woman walked by me. She noticed me and again did not say anything to me, just gave me a weird look as she walked by. Like, she didn't smile or anything, just awkwardly stared. She than came back to me a minute or two later and sead " I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but the dog can't be at the table." It was like she was trying to not be bossy and snarky but failing. I mean, she didn't even introduce herself. I just sead ok and moved my pup as the woman went back to whatever she was doing.
This is were the real issue lies. I still didn't know who the woman was so I asked my server. She told me that the woman is the owners wife.
The woman is the owners wife and did not smile at me or introduce herself to me at all. She showed absolutely no hospitality towards me and actually made my dinners uncomfortable and anxiety ridden. Knowing that this is the owners wife is what made me right this review. If she would have been polite, told me who she was, smiled, and maby had a contradiction there wouldn't be an issue. But she never did any of that at all and my visits were uncomfortable...
Read moreHello, I didn’t want to leave a one star because it was not the restaurant its self, I just wanted the owners to be aware. We arrive today around 2:05 to eat lunch and we were seated instantly in the booth in the small back room. After we were seated we noticed it took some time for someone to come to our table but I understand if they have multiple tables. When our waitress finally arrived to ask for our drink orders we had already decided what we wanted to eat so we ordered everything we wanted.
2 sweet teas 1 water Bacon burger with beans and potato salad Spanky’s tilapia grill with side salad and fried okra Chopped sirloin with green beans and salad bar
It not too much so we figured it wouldn’t take very long. When she brought our drinks it was two waters a sweet teas and 2 side salads, we were not upset because we understand mistakes happen. But then we waited for our food we finished out salads and still waited for our food. At one point we wondered if we had been forgotten because we had not seen our waitress in a while but when she finally came by it was already 2:56 or so and she told us that she was just waiting on the tilapia…….this didn’t make since to me. When I make it I’m normally eating within 15-20 minutes. We finally got our food around 3:10 maybe a few minutes past. It was hot so this made me think that she had not put our order in when we placed it….so I guess we were forgotten. Around 3:30 we get our check and I waited a few before getting up to find a way to pay for the meal and found her sitting at the front looking down (I’m unsure if she was helping roll silverware or playing on her phone). I gave her the check and went back to the table to wait until she came back so we could go home.
Like I said it was not the restaurant. I feel if she would have been honest with us and said “I’m sorry I forgot to put the order in” I wouldn’t have made this post but instead she blamed it on the kitchen and or thought we wouldn’t...
